I would like to have said that it was a great experience. Unfortunately they were short-staffed and the manager was trying everything he could to make it go good for everyone. Unfortunately these things happen. I do plan on going back because the manager was very polite. I hated to leave with my family but we waited for 45 minutes without getting our food. I will be giving this restaurant another try and I hope that things will be different next time. We love Steak and Shake it’s our favorite restaurant.

Why I keep going back I don’t know other than I keep hoping they will some day get my simple order correct cause the food is truly good. Great young Friendly hard working staff but manager is one of the worst when it comes to knowing how to treat his staff and customers. Customer service is non existent for him. Too much of a bother. I keep hoping next time I visit I might see a manager with a Smiling face & positive attitude who doesn’t scream or have attitude should I let him know my order was wrong AGAIN. Check your order & receipts carefully

I do not post rude reviews. However….this is an exception. Worst experience with a Steak n Shake— and I blame it on management. We felt invisible. My experience was not singular— all other customers were experiencing similar service. Took 7 minutes to have a server come to the table with only four tables in the store filled. Never got silverware, and had to ask for place mats. Food was fine, but took 25 minutes to get. Then it took 10 full minutes to pay at the front even after standing there and asking twice to pay, with two customers behind me waiting too. When I informed him that the store’s customers were being poorly served, I was gruffly told excuses: he had two trainees and his servers just came in. However, as a customer who had nothing else to look at, I noticed the servers (who had been in the entire time) didn’t seem particularly anxious or busy to serve, but preferred to be on their phones. Inexcusable, terrible, rude for management to micromanage in the kitchen (pushing Trainee out of the way to apply ketchup on hotdogs) and ignore customers — an apology goes a long way. There are a lot of other places I’ll take my money— and I will.

The manager is not friendly and can make his staff feel belittled. His managerial style needs work. Because of that things on the front line and drive thru were horrible on the day I went. When the manager on duty isn’t performing at his best the staff under them cannot either. I waited over 30 minutes for my order and their were numerous people that had the same issue. On top of incorrect orders being given out, this Friday made me never want to eat here again… and on top of that, apparently Steak & Shake stopped serving shooters :o(

Honestly the best steak and shake I have been to. Our waitress was incredibly nice and prompt. Food was way above what I usually expect (so good we even ordered a second time for an easy dinner later) we had such a good experience we tipped like 40%. Not saying that to brag but rather to express just how amazing the servive was. Used to go to the grove city location. -Used- to.

Horrible service. When we finally got our food it was served cold. Waited 20 minutes just for the drink order.. only because I complained loud enough for the waiter to hear me. Waited another 20 minutes for our shakes which was wrong. Didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes for our food, I finally asked our waiter about it. Based on how cold it was, it was ready 15-20 minutes before it was served. Two kids meals and shakes, 1 adult $4 meal plus shake – $18.
I generally like Steak and Shake, but this was horrible and certainly not with $18 for two kids and one adult.
I always tip well regardless of the service. This indifferent waiter hardly earned the nickle I left.

This Place Was packed! When I was in the Drive thru I could Hear the Customer Service. Every Person was Greeted Properly and the same. As I pulled to The window to pay I noticed how cool The Employees were, and Looking inside the kitchen You would never know they were Slammed Very Clean! Good Job To The Staff!

This place is loud and ghetto. The servers were literally yelling and screaming at each other. You can’t enjoy your meal. The servers are majority young. Cursing, flirting hanging out and laughing, instead of cleaning tables or assisting their guests. I was gonna order a shake and leave a 5$ tip, while waiting for my fiance. I was there half an hour and still no shake. So I left and went to the Taco bell about 50ft away. Spent less money and had my food in 3 minutes. Not gonna bring quality into the argument but at least I got food. And they were very friendly and personable.

Repeating slow service. Slow pace servers. Manager was terrible and really need attitude adjustment. My wife and my 5 kids always love steak and shake at other place beside this place. I felt that it need house cleaning as soon as possible and get rid of manager. East broad st is far from our home. Best service than this one which is closer to our place.
