We happened upon this spot while waiting for a show nearby. Pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. We had the chicken Marsala and the gnocchi in a gorgonzola sauce. Absolutely delicious. They need to sell that gorgonzola sauce by the bucket because I would bathe in it. The four course dinner option is very much worth the $30-ish per person. We are definitely returning.

Good dinner of clams and mussels in red sauce, frutti di mare linguine. Tomato soup was delicious! Flavors were good, all fresh with herbs. Had a great attentive, sweet server who knew food and the restaurant to guide us!! Cool location in an old grainery, clean and quaint!

As always, everything was 10/10, I always try new menu items and today was no exception, the carpaccio was to die for paired with the Barbera, suggested by Tony, was superb. The Veal piccata was heaven on a plate, and then panna cotta was the perfect dessert to end the meal. Tony went above and beyond and it was another phenom experience!

Came here for dinner for my dad’s birthday and the entire experience was amazing! All of our food tasted so fresh and had such a full pallet of flavor. Our server Tony was very personable and attentive, he absolutely made the night unforgettable. This is my new favorite Italian restaurant and I will for sure be coming back!

We were driving north from Seattle with reservations for dinner in Oak Harbor when we saw this interesting older building off I-5 with Il Granaio Authentic Restaurant written on the side. We were intrigued. A very quick Google search told us that our initial quick impressions were correct.
So we U turned, cancelled the Oak Harbor reservations and had an early dinner at Il Grannaio. Wait time without reservations on a Saturday night was about 20 minutes.
A waft of garlic greeted us as we came in the door and we were immediately taken with this place.
We were on the road and this was an early dinner so we didn’t order crazily as we might have. I was going to order a glass of one of their reds and they did look good. But I’m a California white wine girl and went for the Shortbread buttery Chardonnay and was very happy.
The dining room was fairly large and full but not too noisy. Conversation was easy.
The table focaccia was wonderfully garlicky, soft, with butter and seasoning. We split the Granaio salad with Gorgonzola cheese, seeds, tomatoes and balsamic dressing. Very nice.
We also split the strozzabitti with thinly sliced spicey but not too spicey Italian sausage. Al dente pasta, tasty tomato sauce. So very good. Even after splitting we took some home.
We also split a tiramisu with mascarpone cheese. Tony, our awesome server, said ‘ if it doesn’t have marscapone it’s not tiramisu’. Along with some tasty limoncello it was the perfect ending to our wonderfully spur of the moment dinner.
All the staff were helpful but Tony was understatedly awesome. Just the right balance between being clearly a professional and being there to help us enjoy our evening.
Maybe next time we head north from Seattle we’ll stop in Mt Vernon just so we can stop at I’ll Granaio.

As always, Il Granaio was a nice experience last night. Our server Tony was kind, helpful, cheerful, and attentive–he’s a jewel! The food is excellent, prices are reasonable considering the large portions of well-prepared food. I love having a choice of various fresh ravioli specials–they all sound too good, so it’s hard to choose! The pre-6 pm 4-course dinner is a great deal. The staff is welcoming and the atmosphere is perfect. I wish other diners dressed up a little more–this is a nice place–but the hosts make everyone feel special.

Besides a slight mixup about our gluten free pasta, which was rectified quickly and kindly, we had a wonderful time with a delicious dinner and dessert! ❤️❤️❤️

We hosted our 2025 holiday party at this location with approximately 58 people. The communication from the owner, Bill, was fantastic. His suggestions for what to offer on the menu for our buffet were exquisite. Tony was our primary waiter and he had great suggestions for flow of the event, timing, and pairings of wine with the different foods. Tony was an absolute pleasure to work with! We would recommend this location both for a work function and a personal meal. Thank you for being a great restaurant for the Skagit Valley!

Tony was our server and he was incredible, very attentive, professional and knew his stuff.
Food was very good, large portions, quite pricey but worth it in my opinion.
No negatives, highly recommend.

If you think all Italian restaurants are the same prepare to be amazed. Fresh made pasta each day. Sunset menu with an amazing selection. The portions are unbelievable. Treat yourself to spaghetti you want to eat combined with an unctuous sauce..
Cooked to perfection. Music playing in the background, worthy of any sidewalk in Rome. The staff is beyond compare, my lovely Reyna was so helpful and nothing short of incredible.
