I travel a bit for work and have been in the area for a few weeks. I typically shy away from Mexican places as I’m spoiled by the one in my home town.
I was down that way this afternoon and figured why not.
The food is good. Real good. A shining star among the Mexican joints ive tried.
I got the super ranchero enchiladas or whatever it was. 5 enchiladas,. Ground beef, chicken, steak, bean, and cheese.
What stands out is the quality of ingredients.
The chicken and beef particularly, were exceptional cuts of meat with absolutely nothing that would constitute a thought of “I would have trimmed that piece off”. Which is typical at most places.
My only criticism, I had a booth and like to sit right on the edge. The seat, while comfy offered little edge support and it felt as if I may slide off the edge lol
And for what it’s worth. A Mexican place offering a tall draft dos Equis, if it’s not a 32oz you should probably close the doors. This place has it right.
This place checks all the boxes.
Edit:
I came back today. Ordered the exact same thing and it was equally great.
Oh, and they put me in a table this time lol.

I keep coming back and they keep impressing me. This time I think they had my food out inside of 5 minutes. This place is amazing! Still love the wait staff, they’re so friendly and fast I love this place!
Wish they would bring back Blue Moon on tap! Only thing I can possibly say that I miss when coming here.
2nd time here, very similar to my first experience: good food, great service. The wait staff are fantastic!

The food was very good, but what really stands out is the staff. We had a first day waitress that was being mentored by another member of the staff. They were both so awesome! We will absolutely be back, and I 100% recommend this place. The blue moon on tap and TVs in Spanish are also pluses.

Excellent margaritas … and the steak was pretty decent too!

The food is rather mediocre, prices are on the steep side for this area and service takes forever, but the tre laches cake is great. We took the fish taco which were a bare and boring “make your own taco” version, a cheese quesadilla which was ok and the chille poblano which was ok.

This was our first time here. The servers were very polite. The food was fresh and in good quantities. We are vegetarians and there were multiple vegetarian options available. The beans were a bit runny, but the vegetables in our vegetarian fajitas were plentiful and delicious. The prices was a bit higher than normal, but the food portion size was good. Overall, it was a great atmosphere and good experience. I would go back again.

This was my first time trying El Campesino and it will be my last. The portions were small and little flavor. I will definitely continue to go to LA Fiesta. There is no comparison. I was truly disgusted by there food.
I have had some great Mexican food around the US and Mexico but this was truly a disappointment.

Great pit stop for lunch while on a road trip. Good prices and above-average food. Waiter was totally on his game and called us “amigos” at the end of each sentence which we found charming.

Flabbergasted by this experience… The food was just…immaculate. At first, I was confused by the enchiladas because they looked like they had been wiped clean of any viable source of flavor. My cousin called the waiter over, and told him that he would like a bit of cheese on the enchiladas to try and salvage what appetite he had anymore. Five minutes later, I was taken aback at the beauty that I witnessed come to my table. The initially bland looking enchiladas had been fully enhanced by a whole barrel of melted cheese! pounds and pounds of hot steamy cheese was resting on the rolled tortillas! I thought, “WOW! I bet my cousin will be dying to dig into this!” and he did. He enjoyed every single bite of the rich cheesy goodness of the “enchiladas” Thank you so much El Campesino. This experience showed me the true meaning of life. Here is an art piece that my cousin made with the cheese:
