Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I went with the Monterey Melt — and man, that Monterey Jack cheese sauce had a little kick to it . Super melty, a little spicy, and flat-out tasty. Yum yum.
Patti rolled with the bacon avocado burger, no bun, keeping it smart — and it was still legit
Fries? Okay… I see what they’re doing. They’re making a run at McDonald’s. Respect the effort. But I’m still team McDonald’s fries all day
Bonus points for the spicy ketchup though. That stuff? Dangerous. I could’ve dipped everything in it.
Texas stop = success.
The smell was so bad, I couldn’t finish the meal. A short while later, I actually threw up, and I have no doubt it was from whatever that chemical was. This wasn’t just a bad experience — it felt unsafe.
I expected much better from a place with such a reputation. Very disappointed, and I won’t be coming back.
1/3/26 i rarely get a taste for this place anymore because it’s a hassle to get a decent meal out of them. Today they had me pull forward and wait for several minutes only to present me stale hashbrown. It’s obvious these hashbrown have been sitting. Hashbrown take less than 3 minutes to cook yet they refused to give me a fresh order with my breakfast meal instead they gave me the ones they keep on hand for potato taquitos. I’m convinced this is the worst location ever. Once, a manager corrected my order but who has time to travel back for a correction?! Smh…terrible and always a waste of money.
9/24/25 ordered and paid for the honey butter chicken biscuit meal, the guy asked me at the window prior to giving me my meal if I wanted the meal and I said yes but he still didn’t include hash-brown. Stale chicken strip for my biscuit drenched in sauce to hide that the chicken is old af… this place is really a waste of money. I miss the old whataburger. I don’t typically order the chicken biscuit because they will definitely give you an old chicken strip. I will be returning this biscuit when I decide to leave my house again. It’s annoying to pick up food and have to return it but this place doesn’t get it right the first time often. I keep giving them chances and they keep messing up.
8/15/25 I encourage you to go elsewhere. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese biscuit and was given bacon egg and cheese can’t take it back because I’m at work and breakfast is over. I don’t like to order bacon sandwiches because they always skimp on the bacon. Photo included that shows they have either one and a half piece of bacon. Anytime I visit it’s an overpriced, undervalued food experience. I’m over it. They just can’t it right. The manager corrected this. He was very kind and genuine.
7/3/25 false advertising- they had a sign up that the double meat jr meal is $5 however it is $9.09. When I inquired about the price I was told the amount I was charged was correct and given a receipt…
9/23/22 visited this location twice today. Both times my cashier was Daiquane B. My food was freaking amazing!!! The line moved quicker than expected and the food was hot! My order was correct! I’m amazed at the improvement!!! This is whataburger experience I initially fell in love with.
12/30/20 This whataburger has a habit of not including everything you request and pay for with your order. It’s quite annoying. Whataburger is too expensive for them to constantly leave items out of the order and inconvenience the customer by having to drive all the way back to get it corrected. I’m done with this whataburger. This has happened several times at this location. It’s one of the worst locations I’ve ever visited. No barcode on the receipt to scan my visit. They consistently serve cold, old, stale, re-fried French fries. Fries don’t take that long to cook. I’m tired of waiting on that slow line only to receive terrible fries.
8/24/21 I have given this whataburger chance after chance and they continue to disappoint. All of this food is old. It’s sickening and disgusting. The eggs are turning grey and the sausage is extremely hard and dried out around the edges as well the cheese looks like plastic. You can tell its been sitting, yet they served it anyway. Idk where they found this tortilla or what they did to it but it’s all crumbles and broken. This is ridiculous. Go to the other whataburger it’s near Frankford, better food and better service. This one sucks, continually!
Count me in.
I wanted to try a little bit of everything so I ordered 4 sandwiches.
Bathrooms were surprisingly clean, and the staff were all friendly.
Was very disappointed in the Classic Whataburger, not very flavorful or juicy at all.
The patty melt was much better and I definitely recommend this sandwich.
The spicy chicken was actually spicy, and the flavor was decent enough.
The biscuit sandwich was really good as well and I believe they came in two different flavors.
It’s nice to know that there’s always something available at all hours of the day in Texas.
