It was my first time there. The menu is guite large, lots of choices to choose from. I had the seaweed salad, fried spicy tofu, the Barria Ramen bowl, and the coconut boa bun for desert. It was all very good. The broth for Barria Ramen was so flavorful. I loved the combinations in the bowl.
My server was excellent, so friendly and was able to answer all my questions. I would recommend this spot for sushi and other Asian/ Japanese dishes. The atmosphere is fairly plain, but it was very clean. The staff were great.

It’s TOO good!! They have all the freshest seafood, and the best staff, so you can’t get it anywhere else! We ordered the Midori Sour and Cherry Blossom Margarita to drink. To eat, we ordered the Pork Belly Bao Buns, Tuna Tartare, Geisha Roll (the lower roll pictured with the flakes), and the 412 Roll. Everything is hand-crafted to perfection. The atmosphere is fun, fresh, casual, and family approved! Some of my biggest take-aways were the quality of the products used in the dishes and how clean the restaurant is, as well as the practices of the staff. Five stars!

Excellent food. There is truly is something for everyone there! I highly recommend their bao, we got pork boa, also has chicken option. Sushi is phenomenal. Servers are outstanding. Definitely call for a reservation if you have a large party. And I would just disclose the parking is a bit difficult if you’re not familiar with Pittsburgh. If you’re a local you will be fine!

We had an amazing experience at Sushi Tomo! We tried the Firecracker Tuna, Beef Teriyaki, and Broccoli Chicken. We loved every single dish. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
Our waitress, Ali, was so friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. We felt very welcomed and taken care of the entire time.
We’ll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend Sushi Tomo to anyone looking for great food and great service.

I’ve eaten inside the restaurant, have also picked up an order to take back to my hotel and have also had delivered to my hotel. This is by far the BEST Japanese Sushi restaurant in the greater Pittsburgh area. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, the Sushi Chefs are fantastic and the presentation is any way you choose. As you can see from my photos, I order sashimi style (one photo was a mistaken delivery of sushi, and the restaurant quickly sent a new order).
If it looks like a very large amount of sashimi, it’s because I do eat it all. The ingredients are the freshest I’ve had from any restaurant and they’re consistent. Prices are competitive and portion sizes are good. One photo is of a softshell crab “Spider Roll,” and once again, delicious!
As for what I spent for my particular order, because it was all sashimi, where fatty salmon is more than just regular salmon, and a huge quantity, the cost wasn’t typical for the average customer. Yes, it was high vs a typical order, but very worth it!!
This restaurant is definitely a winner!

They brought out a gluten free menu !! I feel so seen and cared for. Dietary restrictions are a huge bummer and make dining out hard. This was awesome!! Thank you

The food was good. We ordered the egg roll, cucumber roll, and vegetable tempura roll (broccoli). I am allergic to shellfish so I stick with veggie sushi. Then we got kung pao chicken and chicken katsu ramen. I will definitely be going back because I needed to try more things on the menu. Also if you go on Friday’s wine bottles are half off.
The staff was so nice and very attentive.

Love the food from this place, probably the best Sushi place this side of Pittsburgh. Never had a problem and have been coming here for the better part of 8 years since I learned of it. I do somewhat miss the “darker” lighting and tone of the place before the re-model but that’s not enough to knock it down it’s 5 stars.

So yum! I started off with hot green tea it was delicious and came in a very cutesy tea pot. I got crab rangoons and an avocado roll as an appetizer. They came out very fast! And I got chicken udon noodles for my meal, the portion was huge I had to take most of it home. My server Becca was fantastic and very attentive. She went out of her way to make this a lovely dinner. Place was very clean and pretty full at dinner time on a Saturday night.
