I have never been to Hook and reeel for Happy hour before until today. I was greeted by the bartender right away his name was T he took my order he was in a great mood my food came out fast and it was soooo good and my drinks were amazing and he used cocktail napkins which is something hi no I love he is the best. Great seafood restaurant! Their seafood boils are amazing wit lots of customizable options and choices! The whole restaurant has a nice atmosphere with cool decor. Our Server was very nice as well. Definitely recommend, specially for the seafood boils.

This place really knows how to make your experience fun. The servers I talked to were all very friendly and our waitress was always on top of it. My friend works here too and it seems like every shift is a blast for him. The food came out at a reasonable time and was delicious. Would recommend, I even dapped the manager on the way out

Very very disappointed to say the least I understand they closed at 12am however I arrived at 10:45 and it took about 10 mins for waiter to arrive to take my order for her was busy chatting with other tables. Once he arrived to my table he was able to give me some suggestion regarding drink an food. My food literally came to be in less than 5 mins however it hardly was anything in my seafood boil, no sauce nothing about 4 shrimp were in my boil an a very small crab cluster, I also order on the happy hour menu and decide to take the mini crab bite and they taste like cardboard I haven’t been to hook in sometime as it seems like they have changed quite a bit. Upon me beginning to eat my food more guest were coming in however the staff began cleaning right next to me a table that had already been dirty upon my arrival. The staff then began looking at me in rage as if he wanted me to hurry up and eat my food, the server than came over and was in a way implementing that he needed me to hurry an im letting him know I was doing a review as he continues to say he has to clock out. I also looked around an thier are guest enjoying there food while they are continuing to rush me from my table. After about 10 mins the staff comes back over an he asks me did I have anything planned tonight an I said no an he said well I do so hurry up. Now I would take that as a joke however no other guest was approached as such and I continue to remind him of that, I then paid and the staff that was cleaning continued to slam tables next to me while there were multiple tables to clean beside the ones next to me. I did not enjoy my food, was rushed to eat, the portion of food was disappointing and the food was distasteful, the drink I can say was the only thing that was satisfying an I couldn’t even finish that i understood that yall were closing soon but im a paying customer if i sat down to eat food i should be able to do as such. I paid a total of $40 and it was not worth it and I will not be returning.

My girlfriends and I came in for a gift exchange at a booth during happy right before karaoke was about to start. The girl with the braces Tash I think was her name was our server. She hands down was engaging, polite, and had us laughing she might have checked on us too many times to count. She was fantastic but the bar on Thursday was horrible. Our server kept apologizing that the drinks weren’t ready. By the time they were ready we had already ate and was ready for the bill. I asked if they make it can I get a cup to go and the server kindly said she couldn’t. So I asked that the drinks be removed from the bill. Honestly from the time our order was taken and ate had to be at least 45-50 mins. That’s a bit extreme to be waiting on drinks. My rating is based on the service from my server and not the bar. It sucks though because she can’t give top notch service if something in rotation not right.

I went to Hook & Reel in Cheltenham/Wyncote and had one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had anywhere. I was seated at the bar waiting for my friend who was outside taking a quick phone call. I was quietly holding the chair for them.
A “manager” named Lydia approached and, without any provocation, spoke to me in an extremely disrespectful and hostile way. In front of customers and staff, she made comments about my age and told me to “zip it.” Called me the B-word. Her tone was aggressive and completely out of line for someone in a management role or period. I had not raised my voice, been rude, or done anything to warrant that kind of treatment.
I asked to speak with the store manager, Richard, who told me he would look into it. Unfortunately, he never provided the owner’s name, never followed up, and ignored the text messages I sent after he invited me to send them. There was no apology and no accountability from anyone in leadership.
To make matters worse: Part of my food order never arrived. I was still charged a mandatory 15% gratuity despite the incident. There was no effort made to correct the missing food or address the situation. The staff seemed unable or unwilling to provide basic escalation information.
This wasn’t just poor service — it was a complete breakdown of professionalism and customer care. I will be escalating this to every entity that has oversight of this franchise. Owners, state agencies and the Attorney General. Hoping Hook & Reel are in compliance.
I’m sharing this so others are aware and so this location hopefully takes accountability for how customers are being treated. I expected much better from this brand, and nothing about this experience was acceptable.

I visited Hook & Reel last night, the place was very nice, the music was nice, the servers were extremely nice and very friendly. They had all the tvs on, some with the 76ers game and others with the news

The only complaint I have is that I waited longer to be seated than the time it took for the food to get to my table. Staff was apologetic 🙂 food was good and they had great deals. loved the ambiance. I came with my kids and it was coincidentally kids karaoke night which was fun. They also made balloons for the kids. Will definitely go again!
