Also shout out to the hostess who was very sweet and gave me a complementary bag of chips. If you see this thank you! I didn’t know what I was missing — the chips are
We tried tacos: al pastor, birria, shrimp, baja fish. Those 4 were amazing.
The Seared fish and a special offer “barbacoa” they had… not so good.
Stick to the main menu because it is so good.
The Michelada is very unique. The alcohol free margarita was amazing for the two pregnant women we had.
Definitely a must to try, though ot is quite mexican for usa taste. Como mejicano, lo recomiendo.
El Mercado Vibe is truly everything to us.
Today I ordered 5 tacos with rice n beans for takeout. I asked if they could put the toppings on the side and the guy said is there something you don’t like and I said I don’t like onions and he said we can make them without onions.
I had my doubts, but lo and behold – All of our food was just covered /topped with onions, including the rice and beans.
Tired of making a point to not have onions and constantly being disappointed! cannot give them five stars – especially if the server makes it a point to say, “we can definitely make tacos without onions” that’s clearly not communicated to the staff in the kitchen !
The tacos were underwhelming and lacked flavor, especially for the price. They tasted bland and forgettable, and the portions were small. The burrito we ordered was extremely dry, to the point where it was hard to eat. The cheese quesadilla was honestly the worst quesadilla I’ve ever had, if you could even call it one. It was very small, barely had any cheese, and came with a sad side of beans that felt like an afterthought. The horchata was also disappointing and tasted watered down.
Service was another major issue. Even though we had a reservation, it didn’t seem like there were enough staff working. There were many people waiting to be seated, and everything moved very slowly. Once we were seated, it took a long time to be served, and it took even longer to pay and leave. Our server never came back to check on us, ask how the food was, or see if we needed anything else.
Overall, Tacombi feels more like a trendy spot than a place focused on quality food or attentive service. It’s like a Pinterest board of a Mexican restaurant. With so many better Mexican options available, I wouldn’t return or recommend it.
