Have been to Zak’s diner a few times across the past year with a family of four, the menu is able to cater for everybody’s quite individual preference within our family, and I have been impressed with the quality of food ordered each time.
We have been sat in various tables within the restaurant, each area is just as nice as the other and decorations are extremely immersive, music choice even more so :).
Staff are extremely professional and happy to help, service is proficient and there is no need to expect any wait despite weekend visits, generally food came out around 10-15 mins after ordering each time.
The prices are slightly more than I would generally expect, but this is made up for in the large portion sizes, enough for us to want to share a dessert between a family of four in the finish.
Car parking is more than enough with an overflow car park for use during peak times. All in all I would recommend this restaurant for families with young children.
Unfortunately I am unable to comment on the quality of catering for gluten free options, but these options do exist which is promising for those with this requirement.

What a difference from Zak’s riverside! I really wondered if Zak’s hsd lost it’s way but clearly it is alive and thriving in Poringland.
Right from the greeting we felt comfortable and cared for.
The food was amazing, just like Zak’s always was, juicy burgers chargrilled to perfection, great fries and good cocktails.
Maddy M was great, perfectly attentive without being invasive, all the staff worked great together and created a really friendly atmosphere.
Thank you for reviving my faith in Zak’s as a brand.

i just wanted to share my experience today! we have two sons who are autistic, one who also has PDA, when making the booking i did leave a note to say we would really appreciate a booth as it’s a safe enclosed space for my youngest son, we did have an issue getting him into the restaurant from the car, but the lovely lady who i spoke to regarding if the booth was available she said in the kindest manor, ‘we have two booths available for him why doesn’t he come and choose’ from a parent with a nuro divergent child this meant the world to him and us, he came in happy after this he made a choice on his fav booth and we had a wonderful meal. thank you to the whole team at zak’s poringland your wonderful ❤️ . your amazing.

We came in to celebrate my daughters birthday meal. Food arrived promptly but got one of our children’s order wrong, understand it was a big table to accommodate for. This was dealt with quickly. My burger was not as hot as it should of been like it was sitting too long to come out which was slightly disappointing. Our waitress didn’t appeared overly warm maybe she was overwhelmed slightly by the big order.
Also when we went to pay I said to my family member to check the bill and when we did 4 of the free children had not been taken off despite this being the current offer during the school holidays. This was soon rectified.
We have always enjoyed coming to the poringland restaurant but this time we were a bit disappointed, especially with it being a birthday celebration.

We used to visit zaks many years ago under the old management, we’ve recently started going here again, this was our 2nd time of visiting, the prices are getting out of hand and the quantity on the plate is diminishing, today the music was far too loud, we came out with a headache, it wasnt busy. Their sharing platter Ts & Cs are a farce in all honesty as they do not allow you to have a burger that costs £18 as part of the 2 for £30, yet they allow you to use it on burgers that cost £17.50? Madness. We had the “big un” today and it was not cooked to order, we both asked for medium well and all 4 pattys were well done. It was a very dry meal and we also noticed the fries were rather oily today. Staff were pleasant enough.

First time at Zaks today and ordered their fried pickle burger with curly fries. I wasn’t sure what to expect as Zaks is based in an American diner experience but the food was lovely, juicy and cooked well. The addition of curly fries made me feel all nostalgic as well. We also treated ourselves to desserts. I strongly recommend the sundaes. Huge and only £7! In Norfolk that’s a bargin.

Been to the other branches and this did not disappoint. Good was excellent. Staff are friendly. Good parking available. Fitted a party of 4, one with a motorised wheel chair, easily. Will certainly return again.

Excellent service and fast delivery of our order.
Waitress was very polite and able to answer any question especially regarding GF menu.
Only negative was the music where we sat….. needed to talk loudly over sound of music to get heard.
