They were very busy when I went, however, my food was out within 5 minutes after ordering. Way to go McAlister’s for great service. The food was very good. Can’t go wrong with a chef salad. Very flavorful with the honey mustard dressing. I would recommend not so many bulky pieces of lettuce in the salad but very good overall. I will definitely go back.
Their sweet tea is amazing always!! I was given a tea pass as a reward last night and it was really nice to just go in and grab us free tea when I could.
Kaycie, the manager was very efficient as well. It was a busy lunchtime, but I was able to get a table that I wanted cleared off quickly.
They never get the bacon crispy enough, so this time I very clearly asked for the bacon on the side. Somehow, that simple request turned into total confusion, and the staff assumed I wanted all of the meat on the side. Fine — misunderstandings happen. I could have lived with that.
What I cannot live with is what followed.
They had clearly already put all of the meat on the sandwich and then realized the mistake. Instead of remaking it like a competent food establishment would, someone decided to peel the meat back off the sandwich AFTER it had already melted into the cheese, scrape it off, and dump it into a cup on the side.
I am genuinely amazed at the lack of basic logic involved here.
If I truly wanted all of the meat on the side, how — exactly — would I be expected to spread a pile of meat that is glued together with melted cheese evenly across a sandwich? With my fingers? A prayer?
This McAlister’s — specifically this location — was our favorite sandwich spot in Tyler. Emphasis on was. I sincerely hope McAlister’s is franchised, because I would prefer not to have to avoid the brand altogether due to the incompetence of one location.
Completely unacceptable.
Lasagna soup. Cheese melt and a sugar cookie. Sweet tea.
This location is wheelchair accessible although you may need help with the restroom doors as it is pretty heavy.
As for the management … 5 ⭐️’s by all means. We eat here at least one or two times a week. Mrs Kayce, she always makes a point to stop at our table and check to make sure everything is made right and we don’t need anything. She has such a kind heart, and you can tell she loves her job. Anytime something is needed or there is a problem, she immediately takes care of it. The other managers stop by our table and check on us, and they always say, “Hey!” Sometimes it seems like it’s “forced, ” but Kayce truly appreciates those who are “regulars” at McAlister’s. There is also a young lady named Alejandra who has memorized what we order and drink. She’s such a sweet young lady. It is the employees and the divine food that keep us coming every week. If you haven’t dropped by, you are missing out on a great meal and good conversation.
Love the online ordering with the drive up “pick up” window. Easy and fast. We don’t have to make any extra calls or go inside to pick up.
