Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant, established in 2002, is Costa Rica’s first and most authentic Indian restaurant. Located in Plaza Cariari, Heredia, near San José, we serve a wide variety of Indian cuisine – from Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Lamb Biryani, and Tandoori Kebabs to delicious vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. All meals are prepared by expert Indian chefs using traditional spices, garam masala, and fresh tandoor-baked naan. We are proud to serve halal food and bring the real taste of India to Costa Rica. I would rate 12/10 for this place. It’s amazing , prabhakar was fantastic and very good service,food quality and presentation . We were celebrating 40th bday for our friends and the food was was superb.

This is the best food I ever had. I will have to travel to Costa Rica once a month to be here. I think this is what Kevin will be like! I meant some beautiful people and they gave me a spoon and offered for me to taste their food. They were from India.

The taste of the food is very good 4 starts along with the service, but the cost for the quantity of food is very bad. It’s expensive and note they add extra service charges and taxes that can go above 25%. We went during the coldest time of the year and could not sit inside due to the hot weather and they would not turn the A/C and told us to sit outside which was fine. I suggest go in the evening and ask about the extra service taxes and additional charges they add before you order. The quality of the food was great and the young boy from India was very kind and caring.

I tried their Masala Chai, Dal Tadka, Laccha Paratha, Rice and Raita (yeah, a protein filled light vegetarian meal). Everything hit all the right spots!
