Kitschy nightclub attracting a diverse crowd for adult-themed entertainment like drag performers.

visited Missie B’s in Kansas City and overall I wasn’t very impressed, but there were some positives worth mentioning. The place itself is clean and well maintained, and the music was good and fun. The highlight of the night was definitely the bartender — excellent service, friendly, attentive, and professional, which made a big difference. That said, the overall experience didn’t really stand out to me compared to other places. It’s not a bad spot, just not one that left a strong impression. I might give it another try in the future, mainly because of the great service behind the bar.

I am in the dead center of discovering myself at 34, and I started coming here. The first time was such a great experience, even by myself; I finally pushed myself to do it again. Well, I guess I walked in with someone sketchy. Right when I started feeling myself and comfortable, I was asked to come off the dance floor and talk with this short guy. He asked me if I knew the guy who walked in right after me, and please keep in mind I did not know who the hell he was talking about. Overcoming a lot of things and being courageous to go out by myself, as I have no one else, getting singled out with the question of “why did he run off” from one stranger to another makes no sense. I left immediately after tonight not feeling the least bit comfortable because how did he know exactly where I was? More importantly, no damage was done, so why single me out? And make a situation over nothing, and honestly, I didn’t know this guy until I was walking behind him. He opened the door for me like a gentleman, and I went in, and he took off running (it is only 38°F in KC right now and raining really cold for the 60°F weather today).
People here are awesome, and I may update this review later when I can move beyond that situation tonight. Honestly, I am just shocked they even did this when you could tell on video if someone is together or not… and this was just fishing and that’s the weirdest part in my opinion.

I LOVE Missie B’s! It is the only place I’ve been able to find easily where I feel entirely comfortable. (I know there are a lot of places in kc for the community, but im not on fet life, so idk where those places are) the only reason I have not like it at any point was that the number posted is invalid and eli cuddell just lip syncing while JUST collecting money. Other performers PERFORM while collecting and he DID NOT.

The Saturday night drag show is AMAZING. Highly recommended. I only drank water, but bottled water was a dollar-VERY reasonable. Heated smoking area and several areas to get drinks.

I used to come here with some regularity, but I’m sad to say I’m not sure I can justify it anymore. I’ve had a few less than pleasant interactions with one of their doormen, but the experience my friend and I had with the same employee last night was not acceptable.
We spent a few hours here after arriving and finding the place quiet enough that they didn’t even have anyone watching the doors- neither our IDs nor bags were checked. On our way out, we realized we forgot our umbrellas on the patio, and turned around in the doorway to head back and grab them- the doorman immediately appeared and started yelling at us, demanding our IDs- he refused to say any words to us other than “NO. IDs. NOW.” cutting us off as we tried to talk to him, until he spotted a water bottle in my friend’s purse as she was looking for her ID, and physically wrenched it out of her hands, yelling about an outside food and drink policy that we didn’t know about and wouldn’t have expected to apply to a plastic bottle of water.
If this had been a matter of him explaining himself, or policy, we would have been happy to work with him, but instead he refused to communicate at all- he came off very much as if he were playing cop- badly. If I wanted to see myself and my friends treated as lesser by an angry man on a power trip, I could easily go to any other bar, but it’s a real shame to be treated like that somewhere meant for our community.

Every time we go here, it’s an amazing experience! The staff are always extremely supportive in fostering a safe environment in which people from many backgrounds can be themselves and enjoy the night. Tony (security/staff) and David (bartender) always make us feel like family, and the drag queens as well!

One of the bars a bottle water was $2, another was $1, the other was $3. Consistency would have been nice, especially since I don’t drink alcohol. I just wanted a safe fun place to dance. On the dance floor someone had spilled drinks and it didn’t get cleaned up because my shoes were sticking and it made it hard to dance in some areas. The DJ never played my song.but the show was fun and all the dancers were amazing!

I had been meaning to come here earlier but made my first visit after the pandemic for my mother’s birthday. There’s a 10 dollar cover charge and IDs are checked at the door- cool cool no underage kiddos here. Everyone who works there is super nice and friendly, bartenders, bouncer, you name it. The drag show was right on time and super fun! The drag queens and kings have great shows and song choices too, they’re definitely fun and full of energy! The drinks were good but definitely strong. The bomb pop honest to God tastes exactly like one. Keep in mind it’s cash only so be prepared with cash or use the ATM in the building. The place itself is pretty big with multiple levels but if you want to sit close to the stage for any shows get there earlier as it’s harder to see at the tables in the far back area closer to the bar.

Been several times and its always a good time. Lana Luxx’s Sunday night (10 pm) show is THE BEST! The bartenders can tend to pour a little heavy, but the shows are the reason to go, especially Lana’s.

We arrived on a Sunday evening to be very pleasantly surprised by one of the best drag shows I’ve had the privilege of seeing. Which really, was the cherry on top of a wonderful experience. Being from Omaha, this place put me in mind of a harmonious combination of the best parts of The Max & Flixx. It’s a gorgeous space, with the perfect balance of approachable dive and class.
The gentleman working behind the bar was extremely efficient, mindful and polite. They also have a slushy machine, which was a delightful, life ruining surprise. It helped to ease the pain of completely bombing the song I selected for bonus karaoke, which began at 12:30. Tony, the security detail, was among the best I’ve seen during the many years I’ve worked hospitality. He was extraordinarily aware, personable, and capable. I have no doubts whatsoever that Tony has a sixth sense and can smell trouble before it even materializes. Every bar needs a Tony.
Missie B’s was a perfect way to end a quick weekend getaway of debauchery. If you’re in the area, get yourself a slushy. Make some new friends. You’ll have an absolute blast!
