This place still remains our favorite Mexican restaurant in Burton! I don’t understand some of the negative reviews given, they couldn’t have been at the same restaurant. Because everything was fantastic as always! Atmosphere is great, we love the ambience. Our server; Nova was bright and cheerful, very tentative. And most importantly the food was absolutely delicious! We had the burrito dinner with stewed beef & Tia Helitas Combo Especial. Chips and Salsa, Chips were hot, crisp and delicious!

First time I’ve been here in a very long time. Only because I haven’t been in the area. Food is as good as ever! Love the chicken enchiladas & wet burrito. Sure enjoyed our lunch! Our server was very good.

Great food and service. Took a while to get our margarita flights, nbd. We had their amazing chips with their salsa and queso blanco dip. That dip has a kick, but hit the spot as we waited for our entrees.
The margarita flights were good. Just wish we could have gotten them sooner as we were sucking down our last ones so we could leave. I loved the blood orange margarita!
I got the seafood enchiladas. They were delicious, but very rich. Next time I think I’ll just get chicken.

I’ve eaten at Tia Helita’s before and had good tasting food, but we ate their yesterday and I think the quality of the food has gone downhill. We ordered chips and salsa and before the chips seemed warm and bigger, but not this time. The portion also seemed smaller. I ordered a seafood burrito with beans and rice. The rice was dry and bland, the beans were the best part and I ate two to three bites of the burrito and found the taste was completely off. The inside was made with sour cream and wine and the server said the dish got high reviews. I took it home to see if my son wanted it and he spit it out and said something was wrong with the food. I threw the whole burrito away. I think it was like $9.49 for the lunch special. The inside of the restaurant was cold. My friend asked for the heat to be turned up – which I don’t think ever happened. Our server disappeared after bringing us menus and water. My friend picked up the tab so I did not want to complain about the meal, but was never asked if we liked it or needed anything else. Although, we were offered extra water. The server brought us a few more chips but didn’t charge us so that was nice. All in all, I would give this restaurant a three, but I would probably not return due to the quality of the food. Perhaps it was an off day, but we were there early in the morning and the restaurant was not that busy.

As a connoisseur and cook of Mexican cuisine, only a handful of Mexican restaurants can truly scratch my itch, and Tia’s is among the top-tier. My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years, and in that time, I can say with sincerity that I cannot recall ever having a subpar experience.
The food is spectacular, particularly the wet burrito dinners, and I would strongly recommend ordering the white cheese (queso blanco) in place of (or in addition to) the salsa that comes out with the tortilla chips. The fish tacos and seafood burritos are also fantastic options, absolute delights for the aquatic food lover! For the locals, this a popular, much-beloved restaurant but for those outside of Genesee County, it would be considered a hidden gem, so to any visitors, stop on in and grab a table! You absolutely will not be disappointed, as this is a multi-generational, family-owned and operated establishment, who equally understand the value of large family gatherings and more personal date nights with a few spirits, perhaps, to compliment the meals. Summarily, you will feel greatly taken care of by people who know how to give great care. Food is medicine as much as it is sustenance, and the whole crew at Tia’s understand dosages as much as quality care.

Almost $14 for six tacos is a little high to begin with but the taco shells were thick and overcooked super crunchy like rock hard but too thick to be enjoyable and most of the tacos didn’t have all their ingredients on them and we’re looking just thrown together the meat was okay sort of dry first time eating here first time impression was not that good at all I would opt for some results for tacos for sure they didn’t even ask me if I wanted hot or mild sauce or anything like that when I ordered it over the phone to make a long story short I wouldn’t recommend the tacos maybe one day in the distant future I’ll give him another try but going to be staying away from this place

Used to love this place and don’t know what happened but not the same at all. Admittedly I did not complain to server, just never do that. The food was awful this visit. We ordered chips that were awful and couldn’t eat them. Wife and I were more than disappointed with meal. I will never go back. Not one to much care about fancy buildings but missing tiles in ceiling and flooring was so warped I actually told my wife to watch her step. Biggest waste of 50 dollars for me in quite a while

This is one of my favorite places to dine at!! The food is amazing and is worth every penny!! The portions are large and super filling. I am a huge fan of their enchilada dinners!! I’ve tried them all!! They always have great customer service!! Definitely a place to visit if your in town!!

Tried this place out after seeing their wet burrito has brown gravy-a favorite from my husband’s childhood. From the outside it really doesn’t look inviting but don’t let that stop you!! In addition to the wet burrito we ordered 1900 Margaritas, chips & salsa, and seafood burritos. Approx $60/2 adults. The rice and beans were unlike any Mexican restaurant we’ve been to and we’ve been to a lot of them! Absolutely blown away by how good this meal was. The seasoned stewed beef was melt in your mouth excellent! So glad we made the drive to check this place out. We will be repeat customers for sure!!
