This was our first time trying Cowabunga. We don’t live nearby but have been waiting a few years to finally try them. It was worth the wait. It took a few call attempts to get through, and their earliest pick up time was about 90 minutes from my order time. It was ready at precisely the exact time they promised. We ordered 2x medium pies. The cheese and the Cowabunga pizzas. Great crust, cooked with a bit of char which we like. The ingredient combo on the Cowabunga was nothing like I’ve ever tried before and it was awesome. We also bought the garlic sauce and the truffle parm sauce. Both were great. Can’t wait to try it again. Friendly staff.

Best pizza EVER! Vegan garlicky greens for LIFE! The staff are extremely friendly and gave me some dipping sauces for free because they needed a little bit of extra time on my order. They were also accommodating in switching my pickup time. Thank you so much!

I ordered a pizza from Cawabunga and the experience was great from start to finish. The wait was about 20 minutes, which was very reasonable. Once I picked it up, I took it over to a nearby park to enjoy the sunshine. The view was relaxing, and the pizza was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and worth the visit they work harder on the garlic dip was not the greatest i have had better. Perfect spot if you want good food and a nice place to enjoy it outdoors.

The Margherita pizza cooked well done is impeccable. Just amazing! It is the single best pizza I’ve ever had. The addition of the jalapeño pesto takes the pizza to another level. Highly recommend if you visit this restaurant get the margherita pizza because it’s delicious. But make sure to ask to get it cooked well done.

Good taste, sour customer service.

Was finally able to visit Hamilton for the iconic award winning Cheese Pizza and also ordered the Supreme.

Upon arriving I was asked if I had ordered ahead (which I did not). I then politely asked if any variations could be made to the pre-named pizzas… upon which I was told “yes $3”

Sensing some frustration in tone likely due to just being a busy spot , I asked for the toppings list (since it is not pictured in the menu) and requested if there were pineapples and what type of jalapeños they potentially had. Upon which the cashier lady started pointing to the menu with her index finger and not interacting with me as if I suddenly stopped speaking English.

So I asked to confirm again which jalapeños there were and she bluntly then stated “the wait time is currently 1+ hours”

Okay thanks for that information but it then seemed like she was trying to dissuade me from ordering altogether?

I saw some more comments in here about interactions with the cash lady and urge management to treat unsuspecting clientele with simple inquiries with patience and respect. I’m not from the Hamilton area and not all information is readily available online.

I spent roughly $80 on 2 pizzas , 3 dips and garlic knots. I enjoyed the Supreme more than I enjoyed the Cheese. I would highly recommend the hot honey as a topper / dip.

I am uncertain if I will visit again due to the customer service alone since there are 3 other fairly famous spots to still visit in Hamilton for pizza that hopefully don’t meet their customers with a side attitude. It’s very unfortunate my experience was soured but I won’t diss the taste due to that.

I called them on Tuesday December 23rd to place a take-out order for Friday December 26th at 1:30 (the order was for 2 large cheese pizzas, 2 lemon pepper hot boneless bite and 5 garlic dips). The guy on the phone took my order and told me it would be ready to pick-up Friday at 1:30 for their Upper Wellington location. I even called them back to add the 5 dips and the guy promised again it was all good and would be ready for under my name.

It is Friday, my friends went to grab the order and the store said there’s no order and they don’t even do the boneless bites there????? They called the other location and there’s also no order under my name there either???? Why would the guy not tell me the Upper Wellington location doesn’t have appetizers and how did they lose my order even though i called TWICE and was assured TWICE that my order would be good????

My friends came from Mississauga for this pizza because we hyped it up and then drove an additional 25 minutes away from my house to grab the food and now we have to place a different order for PIZZA ONLY and it will take another half an hour!!!!!!!

Went to Cowabunga Pizza for the first time with my family and we loved it! We got a large half cheese/half pepperoni and garlic knots, the slices were huge, so we couldn’t even finish it all. Everything was delicious and the staff were super friendly. If only we were closer to here, we would visit more often

Ordered Halal pepperoni & cheese. My family and I tried it for the first time and we were blown away by the exceptional taste from the very first bite! This has to be one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had along with the jalapeño ranch sauce

I am definitely racking my brain to find out why this pizza has such a big hype and the taste is nothing short of ordinary. To my disappear, I thought I was eating something that was going to be out of this world. The way that folks talked about this pizza.
The pepperoni on the pizza was way too salty. There’s other pizza places that sells cups pepperoni.
That many burn spots on the pizza for the price that they’re selling the pizza for? Yes I get it when you cook in an open flame that happens however, I’ve eaten from many places that cook the way they do and there’s nothing like that amount of burnt on their food.
The crust had a nice chew to it but it stops there. The cheese was nothing to write home about either.
For all the hype and the cost of the pizza I would say it’s not worth it.
However Everyone should have their own try at it.
Just don’t expect to be blown out with taste as others as saying.

It’s a little hole in the wall pizza place something you might always walk past, I’m a pizza eater all my life I have eaten pizza from Ontario to Vancouver and back all the way across in every city and I can tell you right now that Cowabunga stands at my number two all-time pizza joint in Canada they come second only to Pepis Pizza in Kitchener ON. I’m not sure if this is just Nostalgia on my part but they are two different styles of pizza completely and could both be number one in my books. Sad to see this place has a 4.2 rating because they deserve a 4.8 or 9. Do not pass up the opportunity to try award-winning Pizza at this place.
