Reviews
From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their friendliness and attentiveness. Great service they provided—quick with refills, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely welcoming. Reasonable the prices were, especially considering the quality and portions of the food. A rare balance of value and experience, strong in this place it is.
✨ Appetizers Worthy of a Jedi Council
The cauliflower “wings” were golden and crispy, with dipping sauces that brought balance between light and dark (mild and spicy). The sautéed mussels, bathed in garlic butter with a splash of tomato and wine, felt like a treat straight from the sea—perfectly paired with toasted bread to soak up the broth.
Main Courses that Conquered the Table
The Tree Hugger pizza was a galactic standout—loaded with broccoli, peppers, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and pesto, all atop a crisp crust with gooey cheese. Fresh, hearty, and full of flavor in every bite. The Summer Berry Salad added a vibrant balance, overflowing with blueberries, strawberries, pistachios, dried cranberries, and tangy crumbles of blue cheese. A refreshing star among the dishes.
For the Younglings
Even the kids’ menu delivered—mac & cheese came hot, creamy, and comforting, keeping the little Padawans happy and fueled for adventure.
⚖️ Overall Experience
This spot nails it on all fronts: excellent food, fair pricing, and a staff that makes you feel like part of the crew. Whether you’re here for seafood, pizza, salads, or something comforting for the little ones, the menu offers variety without sacrificing quality. Add in a welcoming atmosphere and you’ve got a dining stop that feels like a hidden gem in the galaxy.
⭐ Final Verdict: A place where good food, kind service, and fair prices align—strong with the Force, this restaurant surely is.
Access: You can access the restaurant from the zoo (with a re-reentry stamp) or without visiting the zoo through the main entrance. Entering from the zoo there are both stair and elevator options. We were even able to exit out the front – put our leftovers in the car – then re-enter the zoo through the restaurant. Which was amazing because we did not have to carry our leftovers with us.
Parking: There is a lot in front of the restaurant and another large lot adjacent from the restaurant/zoo.
The only reason I gave the atmosphere a 4 was due to large amount of families with tired small children, as to be expected from its proximity to the zoo on a hot summer day.
Staff: The staff were very friendly and our server (also the bartender) was attentive and chatty. He did forget to bring a refill of water – but it wasn’t the end of the world. He was working an entire section and the bar himself on a decently crowded mid-day. Overall great service.
Food and Drink: They had a fun selection of cocktails and food. I can recommend the frozen daquiri on a hot day! I can highly recommend both the Mac and Cheese entree (it had a fun Mexican flavor to it). By far the best mac n cheese I’ve had in a long time, cheesy with real cheese, not soupy or dry. We also got a buffalo chicken pizza and it was very good.
Price: Very reasonable for the food quality, portions and proximity to the zoo!
We would definitely eat here again if we were in the area!
The waiter came over promptly. He was very nice and provided a great experience.
The food itself was excellent. The fun-ghi pizza was flavorful along with being nice and crispy. I highly recommend. The significant other had their fish tacos and the portion was generous.
I highly recommend and would come back again! Their entrees are expensive but for lunch I thought it was more than reasonable.
I have to say the food and experience was very good. 1st and foremost this place is very nice and welcoming. As soon as s you walk in they are so friendly. The hostess sat us right away. Our waitress was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of all the specials and answered all our questions as this was our 1st time here.
I ordered the Asian chicken wings that were a special and my wife ordered French Onion Soup for starters. We then decided on Mahi Mahi fie my wife and Bourbon Steak Tips for myself. Both entrees were out of this world delicious. Barely had room for dessert but ordered the banana cake. I have to say everything was perfect from beginning to end. We will definitely be back to enjoy another great meal and atmosphere.
It’s attached to a zoo so there’s a slight aura of manure before you walk through the door and I honestly wasn’t expecting much after that. I was so wrong. The Fun-Ghi pizza is one of the best things I have ever eaten. I haven’t reviewed crap for a long time and I was compelled to write this because of it.
Cons: The smell right before you enter and the prices are a tad on the high side. That’s it, those are the only cons.
Pros: The food is surprisingly incredible. The potstickers were crispy as hell, dessert was great and again, that Funghi pizza was phenomenal.
Gallifords is well, well worth your money.

SUMMARY:
A truly beautiful Holiday experience. The delicious food was enjoyed in an elegantly decorated Christmas ambiance. My wife and I came to eat here after experiencing the Illumination Festival (Highly Recommend). Gallifords’ is conveniently located on the Zoo grounds. The owner did a phenomenal job with adding a beautiful, delicious and spacious restaurant on the zoo grounds. It makes for a perfect date or family outing!
ATMOSPHERE:
The environment was clean, elegant and had an open concept which are all major pluses in my book. On top of the already gorgeous foundation, they had such classy Christmas décor throughout. It really made for a wonderful holiday experience. We sat next to the windows overlooking the zoo. This area was separated just enough from the main seating area that made it feel more intimate.
FOOD:
We started our meal with the Firecracker Shrimp and Calamari. We both highly recommend the shrimp. The sauce mixed very well with the arugula that was included on the dish. The calamari wasn’t the best I’ve had but it met expectations. For our meals, my wife got a classic grilled chicken Caesar Salad with fries while I got the Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with fries and a side garden salad. We were both very pleased with our dishes.
STAFF:
Our waitress Brynn (took name from receipt as we forgot to ask for it) was awesome. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the establishment and the course offerings. She gave my wife the lowdown of what was popular and shared with us a bit about the history of the restaurant. She was timely and respectful.
