To start with, the burger itself was a major disappointment. When I took the first bite, I was struck by how similar it tasted to a McDonald’s burger. Now, I’m not saying that McDonald’s burgers are inherently bad—they have their place when you’re in the mood for something quick and easy—but when you’re paying a premium for a gourmet burger, you expect more. The patty had the same bland, overly processed flavor that you would find at a fast food chain, and the bun, while soft, lacked any distinctive flavor or texture. It felt like a fast-food burger with a slightly better presentation.
The toppings, which were meant to elevate the burger, also fell short. The lettuce and tomato were fresh, but the overall combination didn’t offer anything unique. If you’re looking for an exciting or inventive burger, this isn’t it. Instead, it felt like a burger you could get at a chain restaurant, but with a slightly pricier tag.
Now, let’s talk about the fries. I had heard great things about them and was looking forward to some crispy, golden fries to accompany my meal. But once again, I was disappointed. The fries were limp and lacking that crispy crunch that makes a good fry memorable. Frankly, I found myself thinking that McDonald’s fries are far superior. Their fries have that perfect balance of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside that is hard to beat, and sadly, Fox Burger didn’t even come close to that standard.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was fine, though. It had a casual vibe with comfortable seating, and the decor was charming. If you’re just looking for a place to grab a quick bite with friends or family, this might be a good option. But if you’re craving a top-tier burger or a more unique dining experience, you might want to look elsewhere.
Amazing food!!! Cannot wait to come back again! Definitely recommend and worth a stop at this location! There is an epic liquor shop next door as well as an artsy boutique on the other side. Beauty neighbourhood.
The staff was amazing, attentive, and helpful, they really took good care of us (we were around 10 people).
Every meal I’ve tried her has been tasty and fun to eat. This visit I had the cheese burger and I loved it.
The dining space has limited seating, so I highly recommend making a reservation. We had no wait as we had a reservation and also they were ready for us before we arrived.
If you haven’t tried Fox Burger yet you are missing out.
Food came quick! I had the animal style double burger with garlic fries while my bf had the fox cheeseburger. I would rate the burgers 8.5/10 they were very good but were just missing something I can’t quite put my finger on. My number 1 is currently flatboys (shiddys). I would rank this #2 as a tie with five guys.
I will say also we came in at 810PM (I called ahead of time to ensure if we came by 815 that they would still serve us and was told yes if we ordered by 845) and the server seemed to be irritated as they closed at 9. She gave us the vibe the entire time she didn’t want us to be there by her attitude or was unhappy about something and didn’t thank on an 18% tip.
The service alone would make me consider going elsewhere next time.
Overall I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, I believe it’s local to Edmonton and they have stuck to the local roots. We will definitely be back, albeit in the evening when we can have a few beers! Great work by management and all the staff
