Excellent dinner on a Friday night. Excellent service, cocktails (looking at that Vesper), seafood fried ravs appetizer special, and simply perfect cannelloni and spaghetti con salsiccia.

Disappointing. When I go out of town, I want to have something that’s unique that I cannot get at home. The hotel I was staying at is attached to this restaurant. It sounded good. And they deliver to the room. Either this or White Castle I figured it’d be unique. I wish I had gotten the White Castle.

I got the baked pasta combo. A large portion. A lot of meat. Fairly tasty, although I would not call it anything extremely special. However, there was practically no tomato sauce. No bread. No fork. I think it would have been better if I had more tomato sauce, well any tomato sauce LOL.

The side salad was excellent, albeit expensive. No fork though.

Not worth the money. Fazoli’s or Olive Garden is better than this.

As always tremendous dining experience. Very accommodating to my better half with her mobility scooter. Everyone was friendly from the hostess to the server to the general manager to the owner Chris. Always a pleasure to dine at Bartolino’ the Hill or Bartolino’s South County. Never a bad dining experience and always quality food. Thanks again to the entire staff for making me look good with my two friends dining with me. Very much appreciated!!!

Dinner was delicious. I could have made a meal from the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer alone! Everyone in our party enjoyed their dinners, which were more than generous portions. We will have multiple meals from the leftovers
As a bonus, it is attached to the Drury Inn at Forest Park, so there is plenty of free parking, more than most places on The Hill.

This is an interesting place. Located in a mall. We arrived and the restaurant was packed. Yet during our meal the place cleared out fast and we practically closed the place down. I had the chicken Parm,. It was fine. Not particularly memorable. Our server was old school. A bit of a character, which we liked. I cannot say I’d rush back but we enjoyed our meal at Bartolinos.

The layout of the restaurant was very warm and inviting. The seats were comfortable, even after a long Saturday run.

*Bonus: clean bathroom!!!!

Food: The calamari was just right texture wise, flavor lacking but the sauce was great. A solid 3.5/ 5

My eggplant parmesan was very tasty and flavorful, the pasta it came with was very bland and that was disappointing with an Italian restaurant. But overall 3/5.

I also tried the cannoli and presentation 5/5, but taste was where I was disappointed 2.5/5, it was just ok nothing to right home about and I was sad about the unsatisfactory in the calories consumed. But all is well in that regard.

Overall experience was not bad. When I entered the restaurant I was over 20 mins early and was seat immediately regardless, which was great. The waiter was pleasant, but it was my first visit and I nearly felt rushed to order being asked my order immediately upon sitting down. Regarding pauses and asking if someone has been there before could go a long way.

Final take I would possibly visit again, maybe or maybe not; the Italian restaurant market here is solid enough that not returning would not mean anything. But If I did I would have to order a totally different meal mid and and mediocre is the same and since I can cook very well, especially Italian food….when I eat it out I want it to be above a 3 or 3.5 honestly.

I got the Alfredo and added chicken to go because I was staying at the attached hotel, all I can say is I have had better Italian food at Taco Bell. The sauce was out of a can and had ZERO FLAVOR, the chicken had zero seasoning on it and I am fairly certain it was microwaved, and the “garlic bread” was 2 pieces of sliced white bread wrapped in plastic……… all for $30……… Do Not waste your money folks!!!! There are so many GREAT AND AUTHENTIC Italian restaurants in this area of St. Louis, I highly recommend skipping this one.

The food was very good. I expected more for the bread. It was not hot but warm that only lasted a minute. The house salad was made with iceberg lettuce with very little leafy green lettuce. We were a group of 14 with reservations, but it didn’t seem they were prepared. They did put the extras tables we needed, but we only had one waitress. She was overwhelmed. So the service was slow. Some orders were not correct and corrected. I would come back again but not with a group.

This experience was extremely disappointing and not as advertised. We expected a nice dinner that was so far from what we received. First, the wait was horrible. We had reservations and we were seated late. The atmosphere was awkward and loud. We waited for almost 3 hours for our food. We weren’t provided utensils and the appetizers were bland and stale. We paid a dumb amount of money for the appetizers. We never even got a full meal. The fact that we are putting energy into this review is honestly disheartening, but we have to warn people to not waste their money.
