Enjoy a delightful lakefront dining experience at Basin Bistro. Established in February 14, 2025, our new café nestled along the scenic shores of Galveston’s Evia neighborhood offers everything from elevated morning bites to light midday fare and savory dinners.

I’ve had my eyes on this bistro for some time now. Glad my husband decided to stop in for some breakfast. It’s cute and quaint and has great lighting. Makes the place feel open and breezy.
There’s patio seating out back with a beautiful view of the lake.
Place your order at the counter and you’ll be given a number to take to any table of your choice. It’s a great place to sit with your laptop and get some work done or with a group of friends to grab a bite to eat.
They have a delicious frozen rosé drink called, Frozé, you have to try it. They also offer beer by the bottle and wine. To eat I ordered the Evia Omelette and instead of the toasted sourdough bread I exchanged it for their Honey Butter Biscuit. It was delicious and the dish came with a side of cherry tomatoes and fresh greens tossed in a champagne vinaigrette. Yum!

I had a spectacular breakfast last week and came back today for lunch. Breakfast I had was the Evia Classic. The housemade biscuits, jam & Honey butter was spectacular. The Fish Tacos with fresh grilled flounder (2x Fillets) with the housemade warm salsa n chips was my best ever. The service, atmosphere and quaint town make this a must stop Bistro

They are not even words in the human lexicon to describe how amazing this place is. When they are created, I will return to edit this review. In the meantime, if you’re in the Galveston area, just shut up and get here as quickly as possible for breakfast or brunch. Amazing staff, incredible food, and the best view on the patio.

I got the breakfast tacos and my wife the honey butter chicken biscuits. Both were great! They also made my little son feel special with a special kids cup. The view and vibes are cozy. Huge recommendation!

First time at Basin Bistro after Dennis has taken over the space. Glad to see Paula was still there and doing a wonderful job; nice to chat with her. We were there with some handicap friends and Caroline(sp?) took care of us so they did not have to stand in line. We had a Burger, Salmon bowl, breakfast and a Korean Chicken sandwich and all were VERY GOOD! Fries are great as well. AND, they have a bottle of champagne at a reasonable price. We will be back often. P.S. We frequent The Spot in town and Hobby airport and we often see Dennis and family at BLVD; another great food place.

The food was delicious where I got the chicken and waffles platter. Unfortunately forgot to take a picture. The chicken was top notch but the waffle was too sweet for my liking but shouldn’t deter any sweet tooth lovers. If you sit outside, the water view is a great scenery to eat by!

Been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. The food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly as well. Adorable atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. We will have to make this a regular stop for sure! We had the Evia classic and sunrise breakfast enchiladas. Chef’s kiss!

Very friendly staff that was helpful with the menu.
Nice area with some shops and other places. Can eat inside or out. It was hit do we are inside.
Great tasting coffee.
The tacos are ok, what you’d expect. The green sauce that came with them was very good.
The chicken biscuits were great, fresh breaded and fried chicken, good seasoning in the flour.
The hashbrown rounds were so flavorful and delicious, they had herbs in them and seasoning.
It was a great breakfast.

What a great hidden gem! This place had friendly service and great outdoor seating with views of a little lake. We saw lots of turtles and even a fish from their walkway bridge. I had the fish tacos which were very tasty and reasonably priced. It is close to Scholes airport so is a great stop for those flying in to see Galveston (will need an Uber or courtesy car). There is also a great coffee shop next door, so I had a wonderful cortado to make it the perfect experience!
