This place is such a gem! We’re from out of town and eyed this place from reviews and stumbled upon it on the street organically! The service and staff, welcoming and attentive. The space is elevated yet cozy. The drinks match the vibe, and will please any service industry and patron alike. From the well to signature cocktails, all will come and be satisfied. The menu, unstoppable. It was such a satisfying array of flavors, presentations, and combinations. I can’t speak highly enough about the tapas menu hitting the spot. The bar ware is super cute and makes you want to put it in your pocket but the staff and overall vibe keeps you from putting it in your pocket… 10 out of 10

If “I know a spot” was a restaurant in Downtown Missoula, this is it. Right off the bridge into town is this cosmopolite haven of curated eats and drinks. Don’t order, ask. Ask your host (in our case, Raymond) what they recommend and let them do the heavy thinking. I felt like I was transported into a much bigger city as soon as I walked into the door of this gutsy sliver of a restaurant; that punches way above its weight for a small town tapas joint. We had the Albondigas (meatball), Cured olives, Datiles rellenos (dates w/ Bleu cheese and bacon), Chourico a bombeiro (sausage), Queso de cabra (crostinis with huckleberry blue cheese), and to drink the Carajillos cousin (w/ reposado instead of vodka on Raymond’s recommendation, incredible choice sir) and the Diabolito. All were excellent and the experience top o the line. We will be back.

Such a cute and delicious Spanish tapas bar! The drinks were delicious and the tapas were a hit. LOVE the bacon wrapped dates. A great spot for a pre game before a show or dinner. The staff was friendly and loved the atmosphere and vibes! We will be back.

My friend was in town and we decided to try this place out! From the moment we walked through the door, we loved the ambiance and felt welcomed by staff. We went in at about 5:45pm and there were a handful of other patrons, but plenty of barstools available for seating. We were given menus immediately and were not rushed to order. I didn’t catch our bartender’s name, but they were very kind and had some super cool glasses! We each ordered a cocktail and then we ordered three small plates–croquettas (croquettes), ensalada tomate (marinated tomato/onion/olive salad), and the pan con tomate (toast with tomato). The croquettas were our favorite! My friend had the Little Birdy cocktail which was fruity and refreshing. I can’t find the name of the one I ordered on their menu online but it had Sevilla orange gin, lemon and a few other ingredients. It was equally delicious and refreshing and I loved the presentation of the cocktails. Our subtotal was $35, which we felt was fair for the drinks and food we ordered. It was $10 per cocktail and a total of $15 for the three pintxos. I will definitely return to Bar Plata soon and would recommend it to Missoula residents and visitors!

Went here twice with boyfriend while he was in town! Both experiences were great! They have a great selection of cocktails, but what stood out to us is the variety of imported canned fish. According to the bartender, the owner is very particular about selecting high quality tinned fish, and it needs to come from Spain. We ordered the barnacles and she was very helpful in showing us how to get the meat out of the shell. There are also a variety of snack options if you aren’t into tinned fish. Another thing to note is that the space is physical very narrow, so most seating is at the bar.
Happy this spot is in Missoula, it’s definitely worth going to!

You know when something is SO good, you almost don’t want the word to get out? Well, that is Bar Plata. Excellent snacks. Top notch cocktails. Bartenders were crushing it. It’s a vibe, ya’ll. Run don’t walk!!

I have now been to this bar 5 or 6 times over the last 2 years, and it’s always fantastic. I am NOT local to the area, but I will detour to Missoula for the drinks & snacks at this spot. I love the ambiance, and the staff are always very knowledgeable. I didn’t get the bartenders name tonight, but he was great!

Great to find this gem in Missoula, MT. Traditional Spanish tapas served in a minimalist, cool-vibe, mid- centuryesque setting overseen by the very friendly Brit and Anna. Acorn Iberico, pan con tomate, the cheese plate with chorizo, and olives are a must. Awesome selection of preserved Spanish specialties like cockles, razor clams and sardines. Definitely stop in.
