The island bakery is a great place to catch breakfast while spending time on the island. Everything is hand made and baked fresh daily on site.

Very disappointed!! Been several times and always good but recently ordered a King Cake and spent over $60. Got home and the cake was tough and dry!! It had good flavor and was beautiful but seemed way overcooked! Tried to contact them through facebook and could only get an automated response. Called several times but the phone was always busy. Eventually, had to make a bread pudding out of it because it was so dry.

The food is absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to start your morning on Dauphin Island. The staff is so friendly, and the little jokes and signs scattered throughout the bakery make the wait extra fun.

Just a heads up: the line can get long (island time, right?), so if you’re in a hurry, we highly recommend ordering the day before and picking up to-go. But if you don’t mind a leisurely morning and soaking up the island vibe, the experience is totally worth it.

Either way, don’t miss this place!

Delish!! Very cute, antique style bakery. Service was so great and the the girl was very informative for us as we were adventuring the island. The chocolate croissant and hazelnut pastry were amazing. Had I known how good the hazelnut pastry would be, I would have gotten 5. So good!

Lighthouse Bakery on Dauphin Island is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk up to the charming white cottage, you feel like you’re in for something special—and it totally delivers. I got the cinnamon roll, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Soft, gooey, and perfectly sweet. My husband had the blueberry scone and said it was bursting with flavor and had just the right texture.

The pastry case was full of tempting options, and the whole place had such a cozy, welcoming vibe. If you’re ever on the island, this bakery has to be on your list. We’re already dreaming about going back!

Best omelets we have ever eaten! Huge! Almost as much veggies and and meat as eggs! Toast was wonderful. Do not make a mistake like we did and order a hugemongous cinnamon roll as well! We were too full from the omelets and had to get a box to take the roll with us! Can only imagine how good the other baked goods are!

This bakery could very well be 4.5 stars. They were closing for a 2 week deep clean, and I had just arrived for my vacation, so I ordered ahead of time to be sure I could try as much as possible. I also got their crab omlette (3 eggs) with Muenster cheese, only available for Saturday morning breakfast (breakfast ends at 1 pm). I found the crab to be well shredded, and the creaminess of the Muenster went well with the crab. It is a little pricey around $27-$28, but I would say it is worth a try. My order: one cinnamon roll, one pecan cinnamon roll, one chocolate hazelnut turnover, one apple turnover, one blueberry turnover, one raspberry cream cheese danish, and one pumpkin cream cheese muffin. The results: avoid the danishes and anything with cream cheese; the danish was like a thick bread with barely any raspberry filling. They don’t manipulate the cream cheese in any way, so you just taste cooked cream cheese. However, the cinnamon rolls are a good size, with plenty of gooey brown sugar cinnamon filling, good tear with the bread, and a tasty water icing. The turnovers are remarkably FLAKY with plenty of filling to enjoy. The pumpkin muffin itself was good so I would say their muffins are well worth a try. My entire baked goods order: around $30. That is exceedingly fair for a bakery that provides you with bakery standard treats. I will definitely return whenever I go back to Dauphin Island!

The first time we went to the bakery we got there around 8:30 and waited in line for about 25 minutes. Noticed by the time we got to the front a lot of the rush had died down so the next time we went closer to 9 and waited maybe 5 minutes!

Loved the chocolate and hazelnut turnovers especially but everything we tried was as good and great prices! Also had a frappecino which was prettyyyyy sweet but not bad.

They have an option to call in an order as well if you want to avoid the line.

For as busy as they were the line went pretty quick. We tried the blueberry and Nutella turn overs. The cinnamon roll with pecans and the strawberry Danish. They were all delicious. Next time I hope to stay for breakfast.

I visited this bakery three times during my week on the island. I could eat one of their brownies or peanut butter cookies with my decaf almond milk cappuccino everyday for the rest of my life! Even though you can call and order the day before, I waited in a +10 minute line every time. Enjoyed the decor, cute local crafts for sale, and all the jokes on post it notes stuck on the walls along the line area that wraps around through the dining room. They have different offerings for each day besides the pastries—so I tried an egg, ham and cheese breakfast sandwich on Wednesday (which I found too salty), and my daughter got a biscuit on Thursday. I tried a few other pastries as well and everything looks carbilicious, but my 12 year old daughter raved about the gluten free cupcake I bought because it looked so cute with a starfish on top.

Amazing bakery. We have a tree nut peanut allergy in our family and we are never able to have a birthday cake from a bakery because seems no one (at least in Michigan) can make a safe cake for our family. What a treat to be here on vacation and finding this gem that not only made a safe cake, but made it beautiful and delicious cake for our celebration. What a wonderful staff too. Incredibly nice group of people and feel really blessed to be able to vacation here and meet such nice people.
