We had a great time here. You can only blame yourself if the food doesn’t taste good – try some new things and create your own recipes. It’s a great way to try new things and even figure out new recipes for cooking at home, so long as you know where to source the ingredients.

I called and spoke with Matt. I am so glad I did. I could truly tell that he cared about my bad experience and wanted to make it right for me. I will be going back in to give them a second try and hopefully this time around I will have some help and great service so my meal will be amazing and this review will be all five stars☺️
Had to wait several minutes even tho they were not busy. Told the waiter I’ve never been there before and had no idea what to do, he did nothing to educate me so needless to say, my food was awful and I left hungry and disappointed. Would have loved to have had a menu to order from instead.

Excellent food at HuHot! Mongolian grills are one of my absolute favorites, and this one didn’t disappoint. If you’ve never been, the concept is simple but fun—you grab a bowl and load it up with meats, noodles, veggies, and sauces from the buffet (as much as you can fit), then watch as they cook it right in front of you on a huge grill. It’s similar to hibachi, but with less of a show and more focus on the food.
The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, the prices were reasonable, and the food was fantastic. My only small critique is that the staff could have been a bit friendlier. Still, overall a great experience and I’ll definitely be back.

Meat selection is usually separated with seafood on one side and other meats filling the rest of the cooler, tonight they were all mixed. The service was horrible. It started out a little busy, but by the time we were only halfway through our meal it was pretty steady. We asked the server 4 times for a new bowl of white rice, we never received it and she didn’t acknowledge she forgot it at any point. When we were asked if wanted refills on our drinks, the server wanted to take our used cups and refill them, because there weren’t any up at the front, they were in the kitchen. We let her know we did not want used cups and she did get us new ones. After that she did not come back to our table to check on us our all any other questions until it was at the end of our meal and plates were almost empty. Then she asked if wanted the bill. There was a table right next to us that she and the manager were at constantly asking if they needed anything and refill their drinks without any prompting. Normally we don’t have too many issues, this is now the second time in the past 6 months. This might be the last time for another 6 months.

So, the manager and the cooks, do work their butts off, I would never deny that. The servers are kind, the issue is, Everytime I eat here I get food poisoning, and I kept eating here over and over because I was in denial about it, this last time was so bad that I don’t think I’ll be returning, it sucks id have to go to coralville for a meal, hoping it would be a different outcome, because I am a non toxic vegan and this is the only place I can eat out at, using only about 4 specific sauces, sometimes it’s nice to eat without having to cook, but something with the grill, or the sauces, maybe the bar is not right when it comes to food safety. I wish I could pinpoint it, but I know it’s valid bc I was able to dine at the West Des Moines location on the regular with no issues, eating the same combinations. The last thing I want is to hurt anybody, this is a busy store and I watch them work hard, but I hope this comment atleast gets looked into bc this last time I ate there, I was so sick for 2 days I couldn’t even open my eyes.

Favorite place, I love to go here with my friend. They serve different types of noodles, meats, vegetables, and sauces and stir fry it on a hot bar right in front of you! would recommend to anyone craving a savory meal that isn’t just steak.

As usual, this HuHot is just as good as the others that we’ve been to. I like the fact that they may have different layouts of the restaurants; they maintain the quality of the food. It’s not easy offering a buffet style restaurant in these times. HuHot not only does but does it well. You decide on what you want and it’s prepared for you. They also have crab ragoons and other dishes that tend to be overlooked.
The service was fast and we were left to enjoy our meal. We could have had a bit more.
The atmosphere was like the standard. It was well kept and lit.

Typical HuHot. Mindy was very awesome and it was apparent that she didn’t have much help. Such are the times. But even with that she was efficient and pleasant.
The only downsides were yea there was a lot of fiber in the food. I think it was from preparation brushes and not human hair but looked unappetizing.
The bathroom was very filthy and had gross looking stains on the wall.
The think that the place is not that clean compared to other locations.
The grill staff did well and were quite efficient as well

If you’re thinking about eating at HUHOT, do yourself a favor: go straight to the Chipotle right next door.
The food at HUHOT is downright awful. Bland, poorly seasoned, and clearly made without any care. And the worst part? They charge outrageous prices for laughably tiny portions. Seriously, you leave hungry and broke.
The service doesn’t make up for it, the atmosphere is forgettable, and honestly, it feels like they’re trying to scam you. There’s absolutely nothing that justifies the cost. It’s one of those places that makes you angry for even giving it a shot.
Meanwhile, Chipotle next door serves up delicious, filling meals at a fair price. You eat well, pay less, and walk out happy.
