I had not been here for years as I moved away from the area. Came back to try and was disappointed. I used to love their Spanish rice and refried beans. Their Spanish rice tastes artificial now and very dry. It used to have a wonderful tomato flavor. The prices are outrageous as well. If you want steak for a burrito or tacos or anything else, it is an up charge. It is $2.50 up charge for each taco. The staff are hit and miss. The original staff are great but the newer people they have completely ignore you. You can stand there and wait to get seated and once you are seated, they take forever to come by. They do not check on you once your food comes. It is just not the same anymore.

We go to pepes often but I’ll never go back to this location… Crappy service…crappy food and they charge you for the wrong things and then refuse to fix it or take it off. I work in the industry, and never have I seen such unprofessional and disrespectful behavior! Talking to the manager was a waste of time. Save yourself the stress and headache and go to another location.

The food was very tasteless. The tacos were tasteless, strangely wrapped in paper. The rice had a strange color and a strange taste. I do not recommend it. The service is good.

Great authentic Mexican Food. Love the ” Carne Asada La Tapecana” ( skirt steak, cheese enchilada w/ mole( or your choice of sauce), rice beans, guacamole and sour cream. fantastico. Excellent homemade salsas.My family and I have been eating here at this Pepe for at least 20 years. Different owners but same quality standards. This will always be my Favorite, great memories with my family and future memories to come.

On Sunday, July 20th we had a horrible experience at Pepe’s in Woodridge where we have eaten many times over the years. The waitress asked us where we wanted to sit. The restaurant only had 1 person in it on the side where we decided to sit. The waitress seemed to be angry that we choose to sit on that side of the restaurant. She walked away without saying anything about returning in a moment or nothing . About 3 minutes later she comes back with waters. I asked her if our seat choice was an issue. She said I USUALLY KEEP THIS SIDE OF THE RESTAURANT CLOSED. I said okay why didn’t you say that? You asked us where WE wanted to sit. I said I want no issues I just want to eat lunch. She said “me either” and I just thought why is she wanting to argue when we are just wanting to patronize the restaurant. I was furious with her attitude so I told my family let’s go. We have come to this location long before this server started. We will NEVER return. Poor service is not something that we will patronize! HOMERUN INN appreciated our lunch visit. Train your servers to be professional at all times! Personal problems aren’t a customers concern wheb they are patronizing.

My parents went to this location earlier today to get takeout, my mom had gotten a few Pepe’s gift cards as gifts over time and wanted to use them. But they apparently said “Oh we can’t take those anymore, we have a new system.” She ended up just leaving but I cannot believe the absolute gall of those staff to say they cannot take Pepe’s gift cards…. at Pepe’s…. not even the slightest effort to make things right. We’ve been going there since I was a kid and I love the food there, but if they’re going to say over $80 in gift cards someone paid for are worthless now because of some “new system” we’re not wasting our time or money coming back.

This was in fact the worse Pepe’s I’ve ever been to in my life. Spent 92$ on absolutely nothing. Service was good, food and drinks were terrible. Only reason I didn’t speak up was because I thought it would be a problem. The margarita was 15$ and wasn’t even mixed in. It was curded and foamy on the rocks, even though the waitress said they use syrup for flavor. Ordered fries and the ketchup was watery. Sour cream was solid, old. I picked the whole cup up with a fork. This is nothing like the Pepe’s in Tinley park or Matteson. I didn’t even finish the food because I thought I know it’s gonna make me sick. I’m for sure they are serving old or outdated food. Do not go to this location. I’m sure I’ll have food poisoning later.

You have got to be kidding me! This is what a $19 plate of quesadillas looks like. A few pieces of tasteless, dried up chicken tossed inside dried up tortilla pieces and thrown in a styrofoam container. Tiny containers of guac (1) and peppers (2).
An additional $11 for a small bag of chips and a cup of salsa. In all, paid around $34 and it included an administrative fee. How a restaurant operates like this is just beyond me. I deserve a refund to be served garbage as such but that would mean walking back into this restaurant which I will never ever do.
This place deserves a negative rating but one star is the lowest ranking possible and the chips and salsa were edible. In all, an absolutely appalling experience and a joke of a restaurant.
This restaurant cannot be allowed to continue doing what they do. A search of recent reviews on google and yelp will clearly demonstrate my thoughts are shared by many.
