A group of friends and I went here on Saturday during a Christmas pub crawl. We preordered as there were 11 of us.

Service was really welcoming and helpful. We were served by Ana who was great throughout.

The food was also awesome. I had some sort of burger with truffle fries and the meat was delicious. Been a while since I was impressed by a burger but this was great. Similar to something from shake shack but more meaty.

Had an orange espresso cocktail. Was immense so try one of those.

Would 100% go back again.

One afternoon in Cambridge and I’d sprouted gills from the damp. I was a hair’s breadth from marrying a swan until Butch Annie’s saved me. The waitresses are pure sunshine, the steak is a carnivorous wet dream, and the chips have more crunch than a car crash. My gills shrivelled up and filed for divorce the moment I bit in. I’m a land-mammal again. 5 stars.

It’s situated in the centre of Cambridge, so our expectations were higher prices and food for tourists. But surprisingly the price was ok for the place like this. And very very good quality

Absolutely — here’s a properly bantery, laugh-out-loud five-star review for Butch Annie’s :

Came to Butch Annie’s hungry. Left questioning why I don’t live here now. These burgers are criminally good — juicy, messy, and absolutely zero respect for your dignity. If you can still talk after the first bite, you’re doing it wrong.

The bourbon milkshake? Outrageous behaviour. Smooth, boozy, and way too easy to drink. I ordered one and immediately started giving life advice like I knew what I was talking about. Dangerous stuff.

Customer service was spot on — friendly, welcoming, and fully prepared for a table of people laughing far too loudly after burgers and bourbon shakes. No judgement, just good vibes and even better food.

Honestly, if burgers were judged by how happy they make you, this place would be under investigation. Five stars. Stretchy waistband recommended.

Want it even more unhinged, shorter for Google, or with some inside-joke energy?

Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had. The Marrow Me burger was outstanding! Fries in peppercorn sauce were fantastic. Dessert delicious too. Would have happily ordered everything again if not full. Country music was fun and staff were brilliant. Beer local and lovely.

Great spot for burgers and craft beer (saw someone have a steak and that look good too) located in a basement resturant. There’s quite a few tables at the rear of the restaurant, so dont be put off if it looks busy when you first go down the stairs. The beef and chicken burgers were very tasty with some nice options.

6 craft keg beers when we visited offering a good range of styles and a cider on offer (there was an 8th tap not in use), plus the usual other drinks available.

I had the steak and chips and it was excellent. The steak was cooked exactly as requested, tender and full of flavour, and the chips were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Portions were generous, the quality was clear, and everything arrived hot and well presented. Service was efficient and relaxed, making it an easy place to enjoy a proper meal. I would happily return.

What seemed like an ordinary burger turned out to be an unexpectedly delicious surprise. We hadn’t planned to eat here at first — the restaurant next door was full, so we decided to give this place a try, and we’re so glad we did. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, with a balance of textures that made every bite satisfying. It was one of those rare moments where a spontaneous decision turned into a hidden gem discovery. The staff were kind, the atmosphere cozy, and we left already talking about coming back. Sometimes the best meals are the ones you never planned for.

Me and my boyfriend visited Butch Annie’s a few days ago and what a lovely place this secret gem is! The actual restaurant is at basement level which helped cool both of us down in this hot summer. The service was so friendly and helpful. The food was a healthy portion and left both me and my boyfriend feeling very satisfied! The restaurant itself is so well decorated and holds a great atmosphere. I highly recommend ordering the Big Chick and The Jack burgers!
