We were in town for GNX TOUR . Arrived late 6/17 at the Hampton Inn(great hotel) . We looked on Door dash for something to eat. There weren’t many options but Marathon Deli had a google 4.5 rating so we decided on that.we ordered Gyros, fries and gyro fries . Food arrived and I took a bite and swore I had ribs with bones. It scratched the back of my throat. I couldn’t believe how hard and dried the chicken was! Who serves food like that? Door dash only gave me a partial refund! I should have lied and said I didn’t receive it so I could have received a full refund. Almost 50 bucks! Please don’t let these reviews fool you. People in that area must have awful taste! I don’t care what time of night it is. Just cancel the order if you can’t provide fresh food. If you are out of town and desperate for food DO NOT ORDER HERE! You will think about this review and regret it. These photos can’t really show you how awful that chicken was. You may have to zoom in and if you had old stale hard chicken you’ll know exactly. This like overcooked ribs pork chop texture.

I recently discovered this place. I came fairly late, after 9. I ordered the Gyro, and it was excellent. My friend ordered the steak and cheese and she said it was good as well. Prices were very reasonable. I would come again. (Parking is tricky. That’s the only drawback)

We are visiting UMD and happened to find Marathon Deli on the map. While the atmosphere was more eclectic than we were used to, the amazing food made up for it! The Gyro platters were huge and very flavorful. Service was great and we are all wishing our trip was long enough to justify another visit before we head home!

Marathon Deli is fabulous. SO MUCH FOOD and the price is great. Food is fantastic and the owners sure do love their community. They are extremely active in making sure the local community does not go hungry and they do it with a smile. What gems. I cannot wait until they open their Kensington location. You MUST VISIT.

Best time to get food on/around a college campus…… is on break. The gyro was delicious and packed. The wings had too much seasoning. Had to brush it off. They also have jumbo pizza that was good!

Ordered marathon fries while being the only person in the place. Despite being the only one, the food took 15 minutes. I attached a photo of what I got. Not only did I not get that many fries (I was splitting it with a friend), but they were burnt and stale. Ridiculous that this costs $8.

Never had a bad meal. If you eat in for lunch they give you some fried dough with honey and powdered sugar on top. Service is quick and friendly. The cheesesteak hoagies are very good.

Visiting the area and ordered through Ubereats. I got the chicken gyro combo and a desert. The gyro was absolutely out of this world, from the flavor and tenderness of the chicken, the fluffy pita, to the amazing sauces. 10/10 definitely recommend. The fries were cold by the time I got them which is no fault of their own, but still had great flavor and the marathon sauce is to die for. If I ordered delivery again I would just stick with the gyro if in a hotel with no microwave. If ordering there at the restaurant definitely get the fries. For desert I ordered baklava but I guess they were out so I got kadaifi. It was super sweet so not totally my thing, but still ate it!
