Great stop! This place has an Amish market feel with a lot of local jams, homemade candies and snacks. As well as ice cream and sandwiches. We got some cupcakes and a sandwich both of which were really good. They also offer season things like a thanksgiving giving offering.

They have some outdoor seating for nice days and even a petting zoo. A lot of fun and great atmosphere.

My kids absolutely love it here!! They have the best homemade milkshakes and ice cream. I love their turkey sandwich.
My kids love going there and seeing the goats , pigs, chickens, and All the other animals they have. They also have a small basketball court where my kids love to play. The admission price has gone up in the last year , It used to be five dollars a person now it’s seven dollars a person I believe. But other than that, it’s definitely worth it. It’s great for kids, family oriented environment.

Great roadtrip stop to get the kids out! We stopped for the tasty sandwiches and ice cream, and stayed for the petting zoo fun! As a mom to a toddler, I was pleased with the baby changing tables in the bathrooms, the hand sanitizing stations, and the kid-oriented food and indoor play area. Indoor and outdoor eating options were key on a hot/humid summer storm day.

It was fun and overall a great experience. My family and my granddaughters boyfriend all went. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the people working were so nice. Sadly some of the kids weren’t being nice to the baby goats and was pulling on their legs so my granddaughter and her boyfriend picked the baby goats up that the kids mostly were bothering. One of the goats even fell asleep in my granddaughters arms. We plan to visit again soon!

This place was recommended by locals for the pies firstly, then the ice cream and sandwiches. After touring Bergey’s Barnyard in the heat of the afternoon the ice cream was a godsend. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially with our daughter’s tree nut allergy. We enjoyed scoops in waffle cones. They sell canned products that you’d find at other farm stands plus homemade pies, muffins, and cup cakes. We didn’t have the sandwiches, but they are popular. This is a great place to bring the kids or grab some lunch and is worth the trip from the beach if you check out the Barnyard too.

A Big Thank You to Joel Bergey!!

Today I was out on the water in a project canoe at Bob’s Fishing Hole, testing my battery-powered project boat, when I started having problems. When I pulled out my paddle, I realized I was not going to be able to make it back against the strong headwind. I got myself close to a tree line and waited for help. As time went on, I started to get nervous—the sun goes down quickly this time of year.

I saw a boat coming my way and was relieved when they noticed me. As they slowed their approach and I explained my situation, the man on the boat said, “Have you ever felt you are meant to be where you are?” I said yes, and I was incredibly grateful for him and his family’s arrival.

Given the situation, we quickly exchanged names and got to work connecting our boats, as he agreed to tow me in. It wasn’t until we reached shore and shared our full names that I realized Joel’s connection to Bergey Farms. It was a “small world” moment for me—my family and a former nonprofit (Getsmart of Chesapeake) I used to lead had visited their farm in the past. To me, this is a testament to this family and the positive impact they have in our area, whether together or on their own.

I am truly thankful for the family business, and especially for Joel on a day like today. Bless you all and thank you once again for being exactly where you were meant to be!

I absolutely love this place! I’d get lunch here every day if I could, their sandwiches are great. My favorite is the chicken salad, and their homemade bread makes it even more delicious. I haven’t had anything here that I didn’t like. If you’re an animal lover, the petting farm is fun, for young and old alike. It can be busy at peak times, but it’s worth the wait!

I have been going to Bergey’s since I was a teenager, and watching this place grow has been incredible. Bergey’s is always a good way to spend your day from the warm, welcoming environment, hanging out with the animals, and the delicious ice cream and sandwiches. This place is a community staple, and I recommend it to everyone!!!!
