TLDR: Enjoy the entrees, go somewhere else for dessert.

Great atmosphere, pleasant service, clean bathrooms, extensive menu. The entrees are reasonably priced for their size and quality of ingredients. I had the chicken gorgonzola pasta. It came quickly, was great, and tasty. However, a tiny slice of carrot cake cost $9! Felt like a ripoff. See photo with fork for size comparison. Would have given 5 stars if the slice had been at least 50% bigger.

As a previous server my review might be a bit overly critical of the service. Our server Mia was great in terms of attention but our table was crowded with plates. A great server knows you never leave empty handed. The atmosphere was gorgeous. Loved it. And the staff said hello amd smiled and were very welcoming. The food was mediocre. I had high expectations but it was just good. My husband got the black and blue ribeye, it was just crumbles on top, rather bland. I would’ve thought a blue cheese sauce. My daughter’s chicken cordon blue crepes were delicious. My steak and mushrooms was good, but I was expecting more or bigger mushrooms. I only saw 3 slices. The potatoes were… boring. Sorry for the long review, but with how gorgeous the atmosphere i was surprised by the food not being AWESOME.

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Really easy to reserve via Open Table. Thank you for accommodating us and our requests last minute. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the shrimp and trout with crispy asparagus and fingerling potatoes. The homemade croissant was a really nice touch. Carrot cake was outstanding. Shoutout to Jolie for her hospitality. Would definitely return.

Companion ordered the beef. Wellington beef was tough. Wellington was deflated meaning it had sat around for a while, barely warm. One soup was served while the other was not had to ask for it to be warmed up and then get another bowl for the companion soup was good with the bisque. Search with a nice croissant. The main course was a seafood course mediocre at best dessert was good service average to subpar and keep finding the waitress and flagging her down nice atmosphere white tablecloth restaurant reservations required parking sketchy very small lot didn’t wanna trust my car going into it parked in the city lot and a halfway

Green Gateau is very clever in decor and use of space. The tables are spaced enough from each other, but the noise level was such that we could not hear each other at our table. Our reservation was lost, a table quickly put together. The service was very slow. Other tables came, ate, paid, and left while we slowly made it through a 2 hours lunch. The food was okay, not great. I had a salad with salmon. It was ok. Well and Good in Lincoln is the best place for that. I had high expectation for Green Gateau and sadly disappointed.

The Green Gateau is a very cute spot with a charming, cozy atmosphere that makes you feel welcome right away. We went for dinner with a party of six and had a wonderful experience. We ordered the Beef Wellington, steak, fish, and a pasta appetizer, and everything was absolutely fantastic—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented.

Our server was amazing—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about both the menu and cocktails. She made excellent recommendations and ensured everyone’s experience was smooth and enjoyable. The cocktail menu is creative, and the drinks paired perfectly with our meal.

The ambiance is cozy yet elegant, making it a perfect spot for a special night out with friends or family. I didn’t take any pictures—just enjoyed the experience as good dining is meant to be. Between the delicious food, attentive service, and charming setting, The Green Gateau is definitely a place I’ll return to again and again.

I finally got to have breakfast here and it was great. We lucked out and were able to get a table without reservations but if we were 5 minutes later it would have been an hour and a half wait so definitely get reservations.

We hadn’t been to Green Gateau in years, and wow, what a reminder of how good it is. Everything we ordered was excellent.

I had a pasta dish that was absolutely amazing, rich, perfectly cooked, and so flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were hands down the best I’ve ever had, which says a lot. Even the iced tea stood out. It is locally made by The Mill and lightly flavored with strawberry and apricot. It was mild, refreshing, and honestly one of the best iced teas I’ve had anywhere.

The whole experience felt thoughtful and high quality, from the food to the little details. Green Gateau has earned a permanent spot on our go-to dining list. So happy to have rediscovered it.

I had a wonderful first experience. I ordered the Tenderloin Fettuccine, and the meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. The service was excellent from start to finish. We showed up without a reservation less than an hour before closing, and the hostess was kind enough to find us a table for two, which we really appreciated considering how late it was.

Our server was very attentive and accommodating. He made it easy for us to switch the protein in a risotto to one we preferred from the menu, and everything came out just right.

The highlight of the night for me was the crème brûlée. It was my first time trying it, and it was spectacular. The server even came to the table to caramelize the top right in front of us. The sweetness was very subtle, which I loved, since I’m not a big fan of overly sweet desserts.

We also had the truffle fries, which were very tasty. The roasted red pepper aioli was hands down my favorite part of that dish.

Definitely a place I want to return to soon.

You must try the beignets. Order two so you can get one with lemon and one with strawberry and share them. Best I’ve ever had.

Easy to make a reservation. But do so a few weeks in advance for holidays like Mother’s Day.

Usually quiet and peaceful at lunch.

Dinner menu is fabulous.

And you must try the green gateau cake. The lemon cake is light and delectable.

Get their specials. Always great.
