We ventured over to Clifton to the Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas for a lovely afternoon lunch.
I can see why Spuntio is the place to celebrate special occasions. Today, there’s a baptismal lunch, someone’s birthday, and a girl’s gathering.
Yari, our server, provided the right amount of attention, making for a great dining experience on our first visit to Spuntino.
First, our cocktails: Seasonal Fig Spritz, Elderberry, and Hugo Belle.
Second, my daughter and I started with Warm Olives and Truffle fries-both delicious.
Entrees: 16oz Bone-In Dry Aged Ribeye and the Short Ribs, both superbly prepared
Dessert: s yummy Ciambelle (warm beignets with dipping sauces)
Chef’s kiss for ahMaZing food and great warm atmosphere.
We moved onto our tapas and had the picante pizza with pepperoni and hot honey, fried calamari, and the most delicious homemade Cacio E Pepe. When I tell you each thing that came out left us truly speechless. The cacio e is something I’ll think about for probably the rest of my life.
for dessert we had to go with the incredible Zeppoli’s with salted caramel sauce, Hershey’s chocolate sauce, and Nutella. I got a refreshing scoop of passionfruit sorbet. I’m not normally a dessert person but WOW!
I can’t wait for the next time I come back here because this place was fantastic l. Come say hi to the best server Gabe who took such good care of us and gave us some awesome recommendations!
This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food and service were both at the lowest level.
In the photo, you can see the pasta — it was completely tasteless, so bad I couldn’t even chew it. I’ve been to many restaurants, but I truly don’t understand how this place has so many good reviews. The only thing that was actually good was the salad. The pizza was also flavorless, dry, and disappointing.
The service was terrible. I ordered bruschetta that never arrived, and olives that took over 10 minutes. When I said I didn’t want them anymore because it was late, the waiter insisted on bringing them anyway and I just left them on the table — such a waste of money. It’s crazy I said 3 times to him I won’t anymore…
I genuinely hope the owner reaches out because I visit many good restaurants and I never saw service like this. The money I spent here wasn’t much, but it definitely wasn’t worth it.
When we arrived, the front desk guided us to the bar, where we were welcomed with a glass of prosecco and told to wait until the room for the class was ready. I curiously peeked at their happy hour menu and decided to order their meatballs. They do not disappoint!
The bartender was super nice, she knew I was taking the class and said it was no issue to deliver my meatball order to me during my class (even though I ordered at the bar).
The room we got sat in for the class was not the most spacious, however the light and ambiance was very welcoming and pretty to look at. The chef that demonstrated was really sweet and humorous.
There was another gentleman that hosted who was very knowledgeable on the history of pizza, pasta and wine. If you’re into that sort of thing. The only feed back I have on that is I was hoping to get some time during this to be able to talk to my group. The only break we had from him was when he went to go check on a group making their pizzas outside the room.
Another plus was we were served either red or white wine (the choice is left to you). It was delicious wine and it did not disappoint.
I would like to come on a different night to have a sit down dinner to experience their other food. In the end, I would recommend this class to a friend.
