Really cozy place on canal. We loved the service and food was fantastic. Many great choices for vegetarian meals. Also, surprisingly the rice was wonderful and unique taste. Our most favorite was cheese fries. It was very delicious.

This place has the best baba ghanoush I’ve ever tasted. It’s smoky flavored and served up with warm pita bread. The chicken kabob is also one of my favorites as well. Staff are always friendly and it’s just a nice little restaurant.

Fantastic option for Mediterranean food in broad ripples. Quaint ambiance. High quality food and consistently flavorful. I love the hummus, schwarma, pita, and the garlic feta fries are INCREDIBLE and crunchy. We got carry out and the food was delicious and traveled really well without impacting the texture. Some carry out food doesn’t hold up, this does.

I recently dined at a Middle Eastern restaurant and had a mixed experience. The food itself was delicious, and I especially enjoyed the complimentary salad that came with the meal. The flavors were authentic and well-balanced, and the portions were generous.

We had to wait a long time to place our order and weren’t offered any drink refills. Secondly, some of the food was a bit cold when it was served. The rice, in particular, was noticeably cold, which was disappointing.
Overall, I would say that the food at this restaurant is worth trying, but be prepared for potentially slow service and the possibility that some of your dishes might not be piping hot. If you’re not in a hurry and don’t mind flagging down your server for refills, you’ll likely still enjoy the experience.

Im middle eastern and have always noticed that food in indianapolis kind of lacks restaurants with tastes other than American. I was happy to try this place and will definitely return! The variety of authentic dishes they offer was very impressive! What i tried was very tasty.. I do wish they would consider touching up the falafel sandwich though… even if it were served as a wrap, I think the spice could be reworked. Fantastic service here too – very friendly and very efficient! A robust menu of cocktails. Definitely recommend.

Canal Bistro is a joint I’ve never eaten at, but last night, I got to make the visit.
Arriving at around 6 PM, they weren’t too busy but gradually got busier throughout our time there. Our waiter was cool and attentive to us, and gave good suggestions on the menu. The outdoor patio was very nice and gave good views of the canal.
I ordered the classic Gyro sandwich with fries as my entree. And overall, it was just okay. The Gyro meat was tender and seasoned well but the pita bread was quite soggy and didn’t hold together well. The fries were also pretty bland. For $16, it was just average.
Overall, this was an okay experience. Will I return? Maybe. Might give the Mediterranean Beef Burger a shot next time since it looked good!

I had the chicken kabob in this restaurant after seeing the photo from 2 years ago. Unfortunately my plate did not look like the plate from the review. There was no flavor or marinate flavor and no brushing of a butter and the chicken was super dry. As you can see the 2026 photo the portions are uneven and therefore one piece would cook faster than the other. Also the grill marks tells me that these are grilled and not Kabob

We came here for a date night, always awesome when a restaurant has open table so already off to a great start. Got seated quickly great atmosphere inside located in that awesome area of Broad Ripple.
We got the sampling platter for appetizer Which was fantastic came with tons of food.
We also got beef shawarma plate and a gyro sandwich plate. Tabouli salad was fresh, great textures and delicious. The hummus and pita that comes is amazing, cannot get enough but have to save room for all the food that you get with your meal. The french fries with feta cheese were amazing. The whole time our service was impeccable and our waiter was super friendly.
For dessert we had some of the most amazing and fresh baklava I’ve ever had.
Will definitely like to come back and try this out again in the warmer months and sit outside. Was a great experience and great dinner, made our date night amazing!
