Tacos de Adobada were INCREDIBLE, best thing I’ve eaten in Austin, which includes several BBQ places like Terry Black’s. If you love family-run Mexican places where even the chip salsas are spicy, this place is a must try. Everyone was very friendly and food came out lightning fast.

Awesomeness in classic Austin Tex-Mex!
About as local as they come, places like this are dotted all over Austin, and you really should check them out. Excellent food, even more excellent tacos, and most excellent chips and salsa verde.
Pretty much my go to for comfort food….

We stumbled upon this place walking in east Austin and stopped for breakfast / early lunch. We had 3 breakfast tacos and the quesabirria tacos. Everything was great, but the quesabirria and chorizo breakfast tacos were to die for. The folks working were extremely nice too

Last Monday after a fun event in downtown Austin my family and I came to this place. We’ve eaten at many Mexican restaurants in CA and TX; the friendliness of the wait staff here was impressive. The younger waitress patiently answered my questions regarding soup ingredients and what “Chapala” means. She was smiling all the time. The other waitress brought us extra warm tortillas, perhaps seeing we were so hungry. The fried tilapia was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The next day we ate at UT dining hall. The food here is way better than UT dining hall and the staff more welcoming! We sure would like to visit again next time we’re in town.

Cute taqueria restaurant in East Austin! Was definitely impressed with Taqueria Chapala! Especially since i’m pretty picky with Mexican food.
Got to try their tampiquena plate and their hard shell tacos. While I wasn’t a big fan of their hard shell tacos, their cheese enchiladas and their fajita taco was pretty good! Would definitely get it again.
The waitresses were all so friendly and helpful. Pretty great atmosphere overall! I would definitely love to stop by again and try some of their other dishes.

Great spot for fresh and authentic food. The chicken fajita burrito was incredible. Got rice and beans on the side as well. All of the salsas were so fresh. Staff very friendly. Will be going back again soon. Loved it.
