I went for a late lunch/dinner and it was pretty empty. It was happy hour (3pm-7pm) so appetizers and certain drinks were half off. I opted for the quesabirria tacos and boneless wings. I also had 3 glasses of prosecco and paid $40 total. Overall I was pretty satisfied with the service and the food. I’ll definitely visit again if I’m back in the area.

Think of regular weekdays as slow days where you can unwind, get a drink and listen to good music (they take requests)
And weekends are definitely a bit crazier since a lot of VCU students come out. (They’ll take the seats away on the weekends to create more standing space as it does get pretty packed)

Food was great!! Service was great! Definitely a place to revisit. We had our dog and they gave him water, only small issue was that the outdoor spot you sit with your dog was littered with cigarettes butts and with having a puppy we had to brush them away so he won’t keep trying to eat them.

The location, vibe are excellent. Very spacious, so even if it gets crowded it doesn’t feel that tight. Great collection of beers and cocktails. You get great discounts during happy hours (weekdays 3-7 pm). Cocktails and classy beers get very cheap. However I didn’t like the food that much. I ordered 3 starters (as in pics) and all of them were not up to the mark

On a whim we decided to check out the taphouse for happy hour and bring along our dog to the patio. I can say the food and service was great. The layout of the restaurant and patio along with the location near the canal was inspiring. I will be back again during happy hour specials there is a large selection of great beers. The tacos were pretty good. Recommend using the nearby parking garage since street parking is limited.

Our group of 8 enjoyed lunch here today. We all absolutely Loved it! Alanna was our server and was Fabulous! She was extremely attentive to our needs even though she was also serving 7 other tables! Drinks and food were impeccable! If you haven’t been there, Go!

The food was fine but the service has gone downhill. I felt like only one guy was really trying to work which was our server. There were two employees (one guy and one girl) just literally sitting on top of the bar right near the front entrance talking and not working. When I worked in a venue, we would’ve been fired on the spot for sitting on a bar & not working, especially right in front of customers. Service was therefore incredibly slow and we felt really bad for our waiter. He was doing his best & never complained but still, the situation was inappropriate. I used to go there all the time before I moved so I was excited to go when I got back here; feel like I wasted my money. It’s really gone downhill.

My wife and I went for lunch w our son who’s in a masters program at VCU. It’s mostly pub food, drinks were good and service was good. A group came in from the James River and started drinking. It became very loud, hard to talk. My son said he doesn’t go there on weekends because it’s a little crazy. Sounds like a good college bar.

Loved the dog friendly patio. We had great service and the food is good. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Bison Meatloaf both were very tasty. It’s a little loud with road noise but otherwise highly recommend
