Best place in Houston for a meal that feels like home. All the servers are great, but Louis who has always taken care of us is truly outstanding. Pastas are made fresh daily and always in point. Ms Rose, is always a reason for people to come in everyday. Ms Rose who is the owner always makes it a point to greet all her customers and makes you feel like family. The remodel which was completed a few years past, gives it an even more Italian country home feel. Always take people from out of town here, and they are never disappointed

I mean. It’s nicer inside than Carrabas anywhere else and the service is better but the food is still the same. Sort of one note and tastes like chain restaurant fair. I was hoping for a more fresh vibe.

Got married today and we got fantastic service in one of the private rooms. The food was delicious and our family loved the lunch. Thank you so much to our waiters and managers for providing us an amazing time. Highly recommend!!

I noticed the crowd here consisted of primarily families or seniors but that’s not a bad thing. I want a no frills Italian dinner. This is a slightly more upscale Italian place, but not to the point where you have to spend a fortune for 6 pieces of gnocchi and not be full. Come here, eat good, leave full, that is all. Old Reliable Original Carrabba’s.

Came here on 2/3/26 for my little sisters birthday. It was a party of 10, 7 adults ans 3 kids under the age of 3. The two young ladies in the front were nice and welcoming. I was very excited since I had never been here before- and i will say the food in my opinion, was very good. The pasta was homemade and the portions were reasonable sizes. The bread was also fresh and good.

The service on the other hand, was not so good. We arrived and my mom had been sitting there waiting for us to arrive. As my mom waited for us, no one offered us water nor bread. My mom did have water but, after that we had like three different servers come to our table, but no water or bread or menus were offered. Not one waiter offered us high chairs not even once, we had to ask. Fortunately my dad knew a young man who’s a cooker there, his name is Angel, and thats the only reason they “served” us a little better. But we had to ask for water, we had to ask for bread to be brought out in our table. I think those are simple things that can be brought out to the table as we wait and look over our menus. Menus which we also didnt have. Overall the service was bad. Really wish we could’ve gotten finer service as it was a special occasion too.

Food was excellent. Better than the other Carrabas we’ve been to. Seems strange…. But all 4 people felt the same way. The menu is different at this location. The outside seating area looked nice, but we ended up inside. I think we will try the outside area later this month.

The calamari and shrmp appetizer was excellent, but needed a few more shrimp, the tomahawk wagyu steak cooked to perfection, the mushroom ravioli and tagliarini picchi pacchiu were both very good as well and the pasta Carrabas is always good. We ate family style and shared all of it. We could have shared 3 mains and it would have been enough food. The server was attentive but not too much. We were at the table for almost 3 hours and never felt rushed or pushed to leave. An excellent time. No reservations, accepted, but call ahead worked well

**★☆☆☆☆ A Heartbreaking Decline After 30+ Years**

I have been a loyal patron of Carabba’s Italian Kitchen off Voss for over 30 years. It was once a staple for reliable, delicious food. However, my most recent visit yesterday with my wife was profoundly disappointing, marking what feels like the end of an era.

From the moment we sat down, the service was off-putting. Our waitress appeared immediately and hovered, rushing me as I tried to look at the wine list. After we asked for a minute, she never returned to take our order—we had to flag down another waiter.

The food, once the main attraction, has drastically declined in quality. We ordered the mussels bianco, a longtime favorite. What arrived was a far cry from the past: small, clearly frozen mussels in a greasy sauce, a stark contrast to the fresh, flavorful dish I remember from years ago—especially at the new price of $27.99 (it was once $9). My wife found at least 4 mussels that were still closed.

The crab cake ($27.99) was burned and lacked any real crab flavor or texture. My glass of La Crema was $19. The plummeting quality made us skip ordering entrees entirely.

While the restaurant has been remodeled, it seems management has sacrificed the core of what made it great: food quality and attentive service. The steep price increases feel more about the “rich neighborhood” location than value.

The most alarming part came after we got home. My wife developed diarrhea and her stomach is still hurting a full day later. This is unacceptable and deeply concerning.

It’s truly sad to write this review. The new management is not upholding the standards that built this restaurant’s legacy. For the first time in three decades, we will not be back. I hope this feedback serves as a wake-up call.

The remodel is horrible. The carpet, as well as other decor that served to squelch the noise level is gone — it now sounds (and looks) like a mess hall. The lighting is now harsh and bright. The intimacy and atmosphere is history; furthermore, the food is definitely not what it once was. A most unfortunate ending to a long and wonderful era.

Worst crabcake I ever ordered.
It had too much italian seasoning or oregano combined with the crabmeat mixture.
You get Two (2) pieces to an order.
I only ate one.
Since I was dining with other people, I did not complain to the server or management.

This was our first visit, as we are not from Houston and kind of got turned around looking for a restaurant. We were ravenous but we’re determined to have a sit down lunch.

Upon arriving we noticed the outside dining area was gorgeous. We didn’t eat outside only b/c it was a bit warm so we made our way inside. It looked like a beautiful space to have a date night dinner.

We were greeted by the sweetest lady who welcomed us in, made small talk; we found out was the owner’s mother, Miss Rosie.
She called a server, Raul, over who took very good care of us. We were quickly seated and the food was delicious. The restaurant was very nice, clean and updated.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a high end feel with a cozy atmosphere and delicious food.
My husband had veal and I had chicken parmesan. We shared a dessert and coffee. Food portions were great and flavor was excellent.
