Reviews
We are very glad we did because we now have a new favorite Italian restaurant
I ordered the tour of Italy with manicotti, chicken parm and chicken lasagna
I received regular lasagna on the first plate and I had to ask the waiter is this was correct because it didn’t match the menus details
He quickly dropped what he was doing and went to the kitchen with my plate
He was amazing and friendly
We will be back!
Not many reviews I do receive 5* straight down but this one is well deserved from the service to the food amazing!
Oh I asked for lemon for my tea and he says they were out waiting on the truck but when our calamari came out I used what they had plated for the appetizer
And let me add I can never finish my whole plate so leftovers for the next day tastes even better!!!
And prices are normal for 2 people honestly, I think it’s a little cheaper the most for two people we ate for $38
11/10, such a comfortable, cozy experience. A must whenever you’re in town!
But the real reason I’m writing this review is because I accidentally sat next to a man who ordered a unique pizza…
He says, with complete confidence:
No sauce
Hamburger
White onion
“Cooked longer until it’s ‘good and crispy. Oh, and don’t forget to bring the ketchup”
Ketchup. For his pizza.
A little while later (because the service is slow remmber) the pizza arrives. He studies it for a moment, and then:
“Can you cut this into smaller slices? And can I get some ketchup”
He sent the pizza back to get cut into smaller pieces!
The pizza leaves and goes to the kitchen. He waits. And waits. And waits. I swear it was 15 minutes making smaller pieces.
The pizza returns and he thanks the waitress before saying:
“Please. Ketchup. Please”
At this point I’m starting to think the ketchup is never coming. And that might be a problem for this man.
This is when things take a turn. Waitress #2 stops by. Still no ketchup. He might cry at this point.
Wait… What’s this??? Like a magician she manifests the tiniest cup of ketchup. I can only assume this isn’t going to be enough but at least he got his ketchup.
The rest of the meal was uneventful. Or so I thought….
I’m atill trying to process all this, but as I get up to leave his mother (I think, maybe girlfriend) quietly covers her mouth and whispers very loudly:
“Look at this guy’s ridiculous shirt.”
I turn.
Ketchup Pizza Guy turns.
We make direct eye contact.
Time stops.
This family. This ketchup pizza family. Judged me. Me.
The man dipping dry pizza into ketchup had critiques about my shirt.
I left the restaurant feeling like I’d just watched a full documentary in real time and somehow I was the villain in their story.
TL;DR:
Pizza: good.
Service: slow.
Atmosphere: accidentally attended a live episode of Unsolved Mysteries titled “Why Is He Doing That to Pizza?”
Would return, but I’m sitting in a different section next time.
I asked the waiter for fresh basil, he admitted he left it off the pizza because the basil they had in the back wasn’t much good. I asked him to bring what he had and I’d see what I can do with it (basil is the most important ingredient, to me). I found a few green leafs on what he brought. I appreciated him for trying his best and being very thoughtful/attentive.
I’d look to management/owners to ensure their teams have the appropriate ingredients and supplies to execute the recipes properly.
