Durbar Indian Kitchen & Bar recently opened it’s door in Edinburgh and is already creating buzz. At Durbar we will take you on a culinary journey across India. Come and try our interpretation of regional classics such as Dum Aloo from Jammu or Laal Maas from Rajasthan. Everything is cooked fresh with knockout flavours. We may be new in Edinburgh but our team has been cooking with its heart for years.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service was excellent.
We started with a vegetarian mix platter, which we quit enjoyed. For mains we had a vegetarian biryani, a chicken dish, paneer kadhai and baigan with peas. We enjoyed the chicken, biryani and paneer dish. The baigan was not our favorite. The naan was a little too soft for our liking.
Overall, good food and a great experience.

Fantastic meal and so affordable considering it is in central Edinburgh. Amazing selection of vegan and vegetarian options, it was actually difficult for us to choose. We shared the pani puri and bread pakora to start, both delicious and a change from typical options. For main courses we had chilli paneer with rice and a huge spinach and paneer dosa with three chutneys and vegetable sambar. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Edinburgh. The many reviews speak for themselves!

The place was empty on a Monday night, we had a reservation at 6:00. By the time we left it was full. The food was wonderful, the Junglee Lamb and Samosas were amazing. Butter chicken is always a good bet as well. The service was kind, made great suggestions and were attentive. The atmosphere is inviting and the restaurant was bright and clean. Great place to enjoy some delicious Indian fare.

I recently visited this restaurant located in Edinburgh city centre and it was a treat for the senses! The aroma of freshly ground spices hits you as soon as you enter. I tried the chicken kadhai and garlic naan — the curry was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The naan was soft, buttery, and served hot.
Service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance had that cozy Indian charm with classical music in the background.

We had fantastic food today. We had Masala Dosa vada sambar. Idli and plain dosa. And it was all very tasty and delicious.
Restaurant Manager Rishi has been a great asset to the team. As leading from the front, he has been phenomenal throughout.

The taste of this restaurant is phenomenal! We had the Rogan Josh with lamb and Butter Chicken and loved it. This was the best lamb dish I have ever had. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. We are only here for 5 nights and I will come back before we go home. You can’t pass this place up!

Accidentally found out as a place to eat after a Fringe Festival show and it was a pleasant visit. Starters and mains were very tasty and also sufficient quantity. Kush provided fantastic service. Their Indian street food starters are top taste. Saag paneer, paav bhaji and biryani are also worth trying. Ambiance is nice with mild bollywood music playing in the background. I’d definitely visit again and would highly recommend.
