Reviews
From the moment he approached our table, Gabe carried himself with the polished assurance of a maître d’ at a Michelin-starred establishment. His greeting was warm yet impeccably professional, his knowledge of the sprawling menu encyclopedic, and his timing nothing short of symphonic. He guided us through the craft beer selection with the quiet authority of a sommelier, recommending the perfect pairing of BJ’s signature Enlightened Pizookie Trio with a crisp Brewhouse Blonde that elevated the entire meal into something unexpectedly refined.
What truly set Gabe apart was his intuitive, almost clairvoyant anticipation of our needs. Water glasses never dipped below half-full, plates were cleared with balletic grace, and when we hesitated over dessert (a mortal sin at BJ’s), he materialized with a knowing smile and the gentle insistence that the world-famous Pizookie is, in fact, a non-negotiable rite of passage. He even accommodated a rather particular request for extra warm cookie edges with such enthusiasm you’d think we’d just commissioned a tableside soufflé.
In an era where exceptional service often feels like a lost art, Gabe is a virtuoso. He transformed what could have been a casual night out into a masterclass in hospitality—effortless, genuine, and utterly memorable.
BJ’s Brewhouse may be known for its deep-dish pizza and award-winning beers, but on this evening, it played host to one of the finest servers I’ve ever encountered in any restaurant, at any price point. Gabe, you are a legend. We’ll be back—specifically requesting your section.
Bravo. Five stars, unequivocally.
Thanks to our server who was professional and chill, pushed it into the 5 star rating.
Think about a good, middle of the road, American franchise eatery. Like an upper class Applebee’s, or a mid-tier Chili’s, something in that ball park.
Now make the food 20% more tasty, the atmosphere 20% classier, and your bill 20% more painful.
Congratulations, you’re at BJ’s Brewhouse, complete with solid draft options, some dishes that punch well above their weight, some dishes that are not worth the plating they’re on, and weekly deals that can make it worth going to if you plan accordingly.
I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but my second visit was bad enough that I feel compelled to share it.
The first time I came here with two colleagues, I had a great experience with the wait staff. Unfortunately, when I returned alone, the experience was dramatically different. I was there for nearly two hours when I had hoped for a quick dinner. It took about 30 minutes before I was even served, and once my food arrived, my server never returned to the table. I finished my meal and then waited more than an hour just to receive my check. Imagine sitting at a table by yourself staring into the abyss or just scrolling through your phone. Two women seated next to me were kind enough to pay for my meal because they felt so bad about the situation.
I don’t blame the server. This appeared to be a management issue, with staff stretched far too thin. I am honestly unsure whether I will return, as I do not want to risk being stuck in a restaurant for two hours again. And mine you, it wasn’t even that crowded.
The young lady who answered the phone kept saying I never placed an order. Of course I was upset but not rude. She eventually got the manager who I dealt with the previous time I had a bad experience. She was rude. She said I made her staff member cry! I couldn’t understand how!
The manager Hannah said it was the drivers fault not the stores. I asked if I could pick up my food because I already paid for it. She kept being rude to me so I finally asked to refund my money. She said she would within 24 hours …well it been 5 days and I am out 35.05 and never received the refund or the food. That will be the last time I ever order from this restaurant..3 times they messed our orders up and now this. No thank you!
