Big Buns is a fun-casual restaurant brand specializing in damn good burgers, burger bowls, chicken sammies, shakes, beer + booze. Founded in 2007, our restaurants are inspired by a true love for burgers and beer, and the belief that eating out should feel like a fun backyard party with friends. The second Big Buns is located in the cutest shopping destination in all of Arlington, The Village at Shirlington. Big Buns 2.0, as we like to call it, has a dog-friendly communal outdoor patio and full sit-down beer bar.

Served On A Super Soft Brioche Bun With Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Ketchup, Mustard, Avocado, & Sautéed Onions. So Delicious I’m Honestly Shocked. Flavorful, Juicy, & Didn’t Feel Like A “Veggie” Compromise At All. I’m Still Thinking About How Juicy, Delicious & Tasty This Burger Was!!!

The burger here was solid. Juicy, flavorful fresh toppings, just what you would want. Also the burger to bun ratio on the single patty was near perfect. The fries were decent for skinny fries. My only “complaints” are that the Cajun nuggets were a little salty and the side sauce was also a little salty and the overall cost for burger fries and nuggets was $30 which seems a little high. Other than that the restaurant was clean the service was pleasant and the drink choices were fantastic.

I have been to Big Buns Damn Good Burger in Shirlington many times, and they consistently serve some of the most amazing burgers I have ever had. I am a burger snob and I can confidently say each burger is so unique with its taste, offering a fantastic and distinct flavor that sets them apart. The fries are equally delicious, and their selection of sauces is really great, enhancing the overall experience.
The only downside is the limited beer selection, but this minor detail doesn’t take away from the fact that Big Buns Damn Good Burger is a fantastic spot to enjoy a mouthwatering burger. Conveniently located in Shirlington, it’s a must-visit for any burger lover. If you are looking for an amazing burger place, this is it. Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved this place! The burgers were delicious, but what really made the experience special was the staff. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, especially Katy. She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. You can tell she loves what she does, and it shows. Highly recommend ❤️

First time here and probably the last. Ordered a medium rare burger and extra crispy fries with just salt. Burger looked great when it came out but when I bit into it it was just a step up from raw. The fries were limp and covered in pepper.
Showed it to the manager and she offered to remake both. I asked them to do the burger medium, since I assumed they undercook the burgers. New fries were good, but I knew there was going to be a problem with the burger since it had been pressed to about half the thickness of the first one. Inside was basically well done and dry. The manager never came to check on it. I got up and spoke with her. She blamed it on the beef.

I like this place. They have a decent selection of burgers and I’ve found everything to be good. There’s staff are friendly and make for a pleasant experience. You’ll order from a cashier at the counter but they’re always nice. The place is clean and there’s never a problem getting a seat. This last trip I had the Shirlington Hot, which was perfect. There’s no real heat for me but the flavors were spot on. It was cooked perfectly. If you’re concerned with parking don’t be. There’s a few paid street parking spots nearby but there’s also several free parking garages within a couple of blocks.
I like this place and think they have pretty solid burgers. If you plan to check it out there’s plenty of parking in multiple nearby parking garages. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. It’s not a date night place but great for hanging with friends or a bite after work.
