At our Panama City, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I went to captain D’s on 23rd Panama City only because the last time I had it a few weeks back it was so fresh and very good so my bad for thinking it would be the same. First off sat in the drive through a min or so before some young lady mumbled something on the speaker that wasn’t understandable but never the less I gave my order for the two piece fish and French fries, drove around and one car in front of me (hope they got hot food) mine was so terrible I think it was cooked at lunch. The fries could not be eaten ( hard as a rock) and the one piece of fish was dried out and terrible. The hush puppies however were good ! I have ZERO idea how you can take someone’s money and knowingly put this food in a box knowing it wasn’t fresh or even cooked in the last hour. Don’t even get me started on the 13 min drive through time. The lack of work ethic these places have and the employees they pay to do a service that they are not doing is insane. Do better !!!!!

Food was fresh and delicious. We tried the cod, fried shrimp, clam strips and coleslaw. Everything tasted great. Staff were very welcoming and answered all our questions. If you haven’t been here, I recommend giving it a try!

Walked in for a quick family dinner to go. No waiting I think i was third in line. Polite staff Had country fried catfish okra fries and hushpuppies. It was still piping hot when I got home everything was delious!

My grilled white fish with the Chesapeake seasoning is always perfect and delicious! Every time I get it, it is great. This is the best deal for grilled fish on the Emerald coast! The lady cashier was very friendly and gave excellent service.

I went to captain Ds today and I was shocked at the so called fish.. I don’t where that fish came from but it was not from the sea or river.
I have eaten at captain ds for years but recently they DON’T serve REAL FISH any longer and im very disappointed …

I visited the Captain Ds on 23rd Street this afternoon. I do not know if all locations are now serving portions this small but they can no longer say fish filets. They are not filets. They are fish fingers seriously. And once cooked, they are so small they are to dry to eat. They are about 3/4 of an inch wide if that. I know there is inflation but apparently there is also shrinkflation at some places. WOW!!!

Even though I made my order late at night near closing time I was greeted professionally and my order was completed in a few minutes of ordering.
The food tasted great, the establishment was very clean and the employee’s move with a purpose.
Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time here in panama city.

We have been eating here for years and have always had a great experience. But lately there attention to customer service has been above average. Two Saturday’s in a row now this may become our normal Saturday routine instead of our go to Chick-fil-A we love them to.
