We came to pass some time while my car had its MOT nearby. Most of the food places have closed down so thought we would give this place a try. I’m glad we did, early in the morning the place was empty but they staff were friendly and attentive, not pushy at all.
The food was lovely and well presented.

I visit Côte Newbury every couple of months, and I can confidently say that the service and food are consistently amazing! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a delightful meal.

The onion soup is a standout and the mussels with chips are simply divine; the combination is pure perfection! Honestly, everything on the menu is delicious, which makes it hard to choose!

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience!

Amazing food and great atmosphere! The unlimited chips were worth it. Kayleigh was really friendly, cheery and attentive.
Our only improvement would be bigger portion sizes on the sides.

Kaylee the manager was very friendly and welcoming. She went the extra mile to make sure we had the food we wanted and checked frequently that we were ok and enjoying ourselves. Her team worked really well together and created a happy and welcoming atmosphere.

I know it’s late but we had Christmas lunch at cote Newbury and it was the best overall experience. The food was amazing and good value for 5 courses. The menu was extensive and found all of my dishes delicious. The staff were super efficient, professional and courteous, nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend. Thank you to all the staff.

Three visits in the last two weeks and everything was amazing! Excellently cooked and perfect sized portions. Kayleigh is absolutely a jewel of a waitress that is so charming and goes out of her way to accommodate in any way possible. Honestly amazing service!

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The steak was tasteless, poorly cooked, and didn’t seem fresh at all. It’s honestly hard to understand how food like this is being served. We waited one hour and half for main dishes after starter.

Unfortunately, the service was even worse than the food. What really shocked us was the attitude of manager. He said “If you want to eat desserts from our restaurant, then sit down. If not, then don’t.” This was said in a very rude and dismissive tone and made us feel completely unwelcome. That kind of attitude toward customers is unacceptable.

This was a very unpleasant experience. Bad food combined with rude and poor service makes this a place I would strongly not recommend. There are many better restaurants with better food and basic respect for customers. I definitely won’t be coming back.

Absolutely terrible experience. I wish I would have taken pictures to share. Granted we were part of a group of 100+ people and having worked in F&B previously, if the restaurant couldn’t handle the amount of covers, the job should have been rejected upon enquiry. Instead, a 3 course meal took more than 3 hours (I left before dessert after waiting for 30 minutes and my mains plate hadnt been cleared yet), I chose the scallops to start which came out rubbery, dry and and cold. Steak for mains with a side of broccoli. The broccoli came out 30 minutes before the steak so that was stone cold and the steak came our looking anemic. I anticipated that it was blanced and finished off for a second each side for grill marks but there was no flavour apart from the peppercorn sauce which I had to smother the steak in. My colleague was also waiting 30 minutes before his main was served. My other colleague had to send his steak back as it was undercooked which then came out piping hot (including the plate so it must have been put in a conventional oven to cook further, when the peppercorn sauce was poured, it bubbled on the plate). Whilst on the topic of hot plates, another colleague burnt their hands as his plate was on the hot plate for a prolong period of time. They were massively short of staff for the size of the party and to top it off, i was informed today by my collague that the “manager” came around and instructed everyone to sit down otherwise dessert won’t be served even though everything was already paid for and half of us had left. Its a work dinner, with everyone mingling not a concentration camp. Again, if you cant handle a group of that size, the job shouldn’t have been accepted. The staff did try their best to get everything done but management was obviously skimping on resource causing stress to their own team. Of course if you are eating here with a small table, your experience may be better but my first experience of Cote was so terrible, I will never go back.

Had a lovely lunch here couple of weekends ago, but just got around to review. Whilst we have been many times and it consistently serves great tasting food, it was the exceptional service from Kayleigh that prompted this review!

Kayleigh was simply amazing, from her positive energy and great chat, but what really helped was her attitude and interactions with our daughter. Kayleigh made appropriate jokes, held conversations about our daughter’s interests that were mentioned and made her feel really special.

So, whilst all the staff who have served us over the years here have been good, if you have younger kid(s) then ask if Kayleigh is available to serve you – she’ll make the meal a breeze for you as a parent 😉
