Venerable eatery & bar dishing out staples such as fried chicken, chops & house-baked pies.

Food:
My friend and I stopped in for something light while waiting. We got the chocolate pie—it was good, though I was surprised it was a whole mini pie, not a slice. Solid snack.
Service:
My waiter—a bald guy with a medium-thick mustache—was just going through the motions. Dry, not very engaged. Hardly checked on us.
Atmosphere:
Cool old-school local restaurant vibe. I liked the look. Beyond that, it was what it was.

I’ve lived in the area but never bothered to go in, but noticing the very high reviews here on Google, I was like wow, let me check it out. And it was an average, there’s nothing wrong but nothing special other than the incredible customer service. They make u feel at home and cook regular meals. At least the stuff I ate. I usually try locations for new and unique tastes. But most of my food lacked taste, and u seem to season your own food to taste..

I stopped here a couple of weeks ago. I grabbed a chocolate creme pie to go and it was absolutely amazing. The lady working the cashier was amazing and offered great customer service. I decided to grab some chilaquiles to go, and honestly, they were pretty bad; it was as if I ordered chips with a splash of salsa. The pie, however, was five stars.

Talk about going back in time! What a wonderful little spot this is. Feels like you’re stepping into a Time portal into the ’60s. Growing up in the ’80s there were still a lot of places like this but not anymore. There’s only a few and this is one of them. The food was excellent to service was great. I didn’t want to leave. Oh and they have lottery at the front. I made 50 bucks on some scratchers so breakfast was on California lottery!

As advertised, best breakfast in town, and it truly was. A lovely old school diner. The food is prepared from scratch, nothing frozen, Evelyn said. And our server, Abel, made sure that everything was to our satisfaction.

I went in at 1:00 pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was half empty. The food felt too rushed. The omelette was under seasoned. The potatoes on the side were over peppered and burnt. The pancakes were average. On the menu the syrup they have is either maple or boysenberry. When I asked for pancakes the server did not clarify which syrup I wanted and I ended up getting boysenberry. The default should be maple as both syrups look the same but taste completely different. The best thing about the restaurant is the hospitality.

Historic location with great homestyle atmosphere. Great selection of classic diner favorites and homemade desserts. We tried the Belgian waffle, veggie omelet and a raspberry cream cheese pie. Prices were a bit on the pricier side for diner fare, but everything was delicious and service was great.

The restaurant has legit a great cook. Food was amazing. The service was great and the atmosphere was like going back in time to the 70’s, from the furniture down to the register, very 70’s. Magical. Highly recommended

Great all American nostalgic diner, great service waiters and waitresses are super friendly. I ate breakfast or brunch and everything was delicious! If I lived in the neighborhood I would be a regular can’t wait to go back when I’m in town

I’m surprised it has so many 5 stars. The food is very basic, same with the flavor, If I’m eating outside I expect top of the line cooking, otherwise I rather just eat at home. Needs many upgrades, specially in the restroom, and everything inside feels and smells old. Bottom of the story, this is one of those restaurants you go once, but never go back again. False advertising, not the best breakfast in town for sure.
