This was the first place we ate during our four day stay in Rockport and it didn’t disappoint!!!
My wife and I both ordered the Clam chowder and it was delicious. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi with a house salad and my wife had the Fish and chips. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was an abundant amount… However, the fact that when I asked for some bread I was brought a toasted brioche bun seemed a bit odd. Although the prices are fair, they should serve some sort of bread other than a hamburger bun for the price. The only other complaint was by my wife, who is British, REALLY didn’t like the fact that the fish, in the fish and chips, came in pieces instead of filets. We’re adults, we can cut our fish. When it comes in pieces, it’s obvious that you are cutting corners and again, all be it the prices are fair, it looks cheap when you serve $30 fish and chips in pieces.
Our server was great. I hate that I forgot her name, I know that it started with an L and I think it was Italian, but there’s a picture of her and she was really attentive, friendly and had good knowledge of the menu.
Atmosphere was incredible!!! Nice bar as soon as you walk in with plenty of conversations and some televisions as well. The dining area was worth the price alone. Eating seafood by the window, as you look out over the bay was priceless!!!
In conclusion, outside of the couple of things I mentioned, it was a wonderful meal and a wonderful way to start out our vacation in Rockport. I highly recommend this establishment. 8 out of 10.

We travelled 9,400 miles for fresh lobster, we are so so satisfied. Great place, had sports bar, great interior, great views of sunset if you come at right time, lobster main event was super duper awesome, great price, super delicious. So good, we ordered 3 lobsters. Wow, wow. Worth every mile travelled. Clam chowder, calamari was great. No chance to try the other dishes. Overall best place for lobster in New England.

The Fish Shack is a great spot with a beautiful view right by the bay. The food feels local and authentic, with fresh flavors that fit the coastal vibe. Perfect place for a relaxed meal while enjoying the scenery.

Couldn’t have asked for a better intro to the lobster roll game! soft, buttery bun, the tender claw meat, and the chilled lemonade, all hit the spot. didn’t have to wait long for the roll, and everyone there was welcoming!

Wound up here when the place we were going was too busy, boy did that work out in our favor! The clam chowder was delicious, the scallops tender and with a perfect amount of garlic and breadcrumbs, amazing fresh clams, and cole slaw was tasty too. Service was friendly and fast.

Give it a 3.5 stars. We got the fish tacos and haddock rubben rye sandwiches. Each comes of one side. The fish tacos lightly fried. It has good flavor. It also comes with tartar sauce. The cold slaw was good.
The haddock rubben rye sandwich was flavorful. Light fried haddock and the rye holds up. I would definitely get the fish tacos and haddock sandwich again. We didn’t have to wait. Thr food came out fast and our waitress was atten. No outdoor seating. Parking can be tricky and it’s not free.

Had a great experience. Food was very good – on top of that, big portions at super reasonable prices. However they fry the fish here, everybody should take notice. Server was phenomenal. Very nice to our kids. Also, kids loved the food – one of the few times our kids happily ate fish. Highly recommend.

The food was good, though nothing particularly mind-blowing. I had the fish sandwich, which tasted like any typical fish sandwich. That said, the service was amazing, and the view truly elevated the experience. Being able to enjoy a meal with a beautiful view of the waterfront was a highlight. Be prepared for a long wait, though—it took almost two hours for our table to be ready. Despite the wait, I would still recommend it!

Our waitress was fantastic and friendly. I loved the family-friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. The location is perfect, but food doesn’t taste fresh. My husband’s calamari tasted frozen and didn’t have any flavor. I would definitely try and give this place a second chance since it’s an awesome location with a great atmosphere. Maybe we just came at a bad time.

My husband and I visited Rockport for a few days early October. We had lunch here and dinner twice. Our server all 3 times was a young man attending college and working here. He was personable, knew the menu and attentive. We had their clam chowder (which is very thick but good), fish and chips, sword fish and an awesome serving of mac and cheese over the 3 meals. View is beautiful too. We would definitely go back, even with other dining experiences available in this scenic town.
