The Peppertree restaurant has been a tradition for fine dining in Colorado Springs since 1983. Serving steaks, seafood, lamb, veal and more, the Peppertree is legendary for impeccable cuisine, ambiance, service and breathtaking views of the city. The Peppertree’s signature Mango Chutney Pepper Steak and other specialties, including Chateaubriand and Steak Diane, are prepared or finished table side.
High-end seafood & steaks prepared tableside in a stylish space with views of the city skyline.

I absolutely couldn’t have been more excited to get a seat to give this place a chance to see what all the talk was about. Let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations and topped my favorite restaurants. The fresh bread, the salad, the wine, the details put into preparing the steaks and dishes were unmatched. The atmosphere, hospitality, recommendations, seating, and I can go on were top tier. You don’t get any better than this. I highly recommend and will make sure we are back for more celebrations. Thank you Katie, Lou, Emily and the entire team you all were wonderful.

This place was very nice and a pleasant experience. Each item was perfect. One of my favorite parts was the gnocchi. It was full of flavor and I loved that they sautéed the gnocchi before adding the pesto. Will definitely come back. Thanks for the experience.

We discovered this hidden gem for my husbands birthday celebration! The ambience was cozy and the views of the city beautiful! The food and dessert were above amazing! The service was above and beyond exceptional! Watching them cook your meal and banana fosters table side was entertaining! If I could give them 100 stars I would! We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back again! Thank you for making his birthday special!

I’ve been wanting to try their desserts for years and learned that they were super famous for steaks as well especially the “Pepper Steak!” I got that and the Banana Foster, and Cherry Jubilee for dessert! It was such a fun experience and tasty food! I also got to try my first ever steak with a sweet/spicy chutney made from Mangoes, Peppers, and Raisins that I legit licked off my plate after I was done! If you want to have fun, try some unique food, and have a memorable experience, stop by The Pepper Tree!

This place is not worth the hype in my opinion. I’ve heard a lot great things about this place so I was excited to try it out and it wasn’t worth the price or time so I won’t be going back. A couple of negatives first; for a high end (and high price) place the fluorescent lighting really is not high end, makes it feel like we’re being watched. Many high end places stick to the warmer lighting as it goes well with the theme. Alongside lighting, barely any music is playing – definitely understand that people like to have conversations, but I definitely shouldn’t be able to hear the conversations in the kitchen while I’m sitting by the window. If their music was some classical/jazz a little louder, it would fit the high end theme. As well as the bread, hard as a rock and some saltines, hated that. Why are you serving me saltines at a high end restaurant? The service was nice but could be better, did not take any dishes so our table was full of dishes all the way until they boxed our food (which would normally be a positive but,) they did not bring back our food in a packaged bag – a high end restaurant should be doing this.
The positives; the food was very good. The veal and chicken were both tasty dishes – the cooks know what they’re doing. The presentation is also very well done.
All that being said, with how expensive the food is, make the actual restaurant feel worth while. It would be incredibly easy to make some changes to go alongside the superb food but they choose not to do them. Many higher end restaurants will give you these same things: atmosphere, excellent service, amazing food at a fraction of Pepper Tree’s prices.

We hadn’t been to Pepper Tree in a few years, but decided to go back again. It was a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff was outstanding. They hung our coats, sat us at the table, and we we were awed by the view of Colorado Springs.
We ordered and were pleasantly surprised by our steaks being cooked at the table.
Even better was the cheer that went up when the Broncos won their playoff game (we all watching the overtime on our cell phones).
A superb place to go for a special evening or event.

I came here for a birthday celebration. We had 12 people and the service from our 1 server, Ashley was for a “Fine Dining” restaurant below par. Maybe not her fault as for a party of 12 there should have been 2 servers. I was very excited to see they had my favorite Seabass and wanted to try it. The menu said nothing about it being fried!! I had never had Seabass at $62 mind you served to me in this manner. I had the sauce on the side thank heavens because I’m sure the sauce was to cover up the fact it was fried! That should be part of the menu description. Here is your menu: CHILEAN SEABASS
$62.00: Atlantic filet served with a lemon-butter caper sauce.
I had to scrape of the overcooked crispy top to eat what was under it, imo, the overcooked Seabass. It was not juicy or melt in your mouth as I had previously experienced eating Seabass. I don’t mind the price, it was the preparation that ruined this beautiful tasting fish. Your cook needs more experience in seafood preparation and don’t try and cover it up with a heavy sauce!
Let’s move on to the side of au gratin potatoes. Again overcooked with a crusty top. The person next to me commented to me on that first so when I saw mine it was the same. He pulled his top off and so did I losing almost 1/2 the portion served. The potatoes under the topping were ok, but nothing special.
Now onto the service, this is the category that really failed. I blame management for this, having only one server for 12 people and this was for a birthday so there was an expectation from the person who wanted to share with her group of friends from around the country, the “Fine Dining” experience she so enjoyed. Furthermore regarding service, the dishes were not cleared until our hostess complained and even then it was slow and noisy! Plates clanging and smashing together piling up as fast as they could. I had to order a Sprite 3 times to get it and the server did admit she forgot which ok, but then eventually bring it!!
For the price that was paid and the failures that were experienced at this “Fine Dining” restaurant, I am not excited to return. The host in our group , I saw upon leaving was in discussion with the restaurant as to his displeasure for his wife’s birthday party. I don’t know the outcome but from what I saw there were nervous employees and service failures unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. I will most likely avoid this place in the future due to mostly lack of care for your customer. In any restaurant that is unacceptable especially your’s. The view outside is nice but the view inside leaves one wondering about Fine dining. The experience does not match the white tablecloths on the tables that reflect fine dining.
The Seabass shown below shows the fried breading with the sauce meant to hide the fish.

Visited the Pepper Tree (Steak House) for our wedding anniversary. First time at the Pepper Tree. Receptionist Hostess was welcoming and all staff (Katie, Emily, Lou and Rico) were dressed in professional attire (coats and bowties). Seated in the back table on the window (nice elevated view of the city). All wait staff were courteous, professional and welcoming. We ordered the 6 oz. Pepper Steak and 8 oz Filet Mignon Steak, with loaded bake potatoes, with a salad. The Pepper Steak was cooked at the table, and the Filet Mignon Steak was cooked in the kitchen on the grill. Salad and homemade dressing was delicious. The Steaks were cooked medium and were thick cuts, and very tender. Very satisfying dining experience at The Pepper Tree Restaurant. Recommend The Pepper Tree Restaurant for a fine dining experience.

Loved the service and the view of Colorado Springs. My favorite was the lobster Maine and the banana foster. The side salad was also good too, and i loved the experience where they cooked in front of you. It’s a very cute place for fine dining. Tho it’s an expensive place some might say, I had one guest say the price doesn’t match the food. But I thought the Lobster and Banana Foster really stood out

Great food, beautiful views, and amazing service. Everything is timed well, and the attentive staff ensures a pleasant experience. The reasonably priced drinks are of high quality. Restaurants and bars should learn from Pepper Tree’s exceptional menu and service.
