Even our non-desi guests couldn’t stop raving about the samosas and gulab jamuns. It was so special to see everyone, from every background, enjoy the flavors with so much enthusiasm.
The two staff members who helped with serving were wonderful as well—kind, attentive, and always on top of refilling trays before anything ran out. Their presence made everything run smoothly.
We feel so lucky to have such a gem of Indian food right here in our backyard. Bahar helped make our celebration memorable, and we’ll happily be returning for future events.
Unfortunately, the Malai Kofta’s gravy was a letdown – it lacked depth and flavor, feeling somewhat bland. The Chicken Bezwada Biryani was average, nothing to write home about.
On the bright side, the ambience was stunning! The decor and atmosphere were inviting and made for a pleasant dining experience.
Given the potential shown by the setting, I’m hoping BAHAR works on refining their food and quality. With some tweaks, this spot could truly shine. Maybe next time I’ll get to enjoy better dishes.
Food: 2.5/5
Ambience: 4.5/5
We used to go to Sitar off Mira Mesa but they closed down in 2021. We started going to Charminar in Mira Mesa. Good to see an Indian restaurant in 4S Ranch. The food is excellent and the restaurant is not as crowded as Charminar. Service was fair but we understand the restaurant had only opened two months ago. Seemed like our waitress was new. It took a while to get service but the food arrived very quickly. Will definitely go back and try the buffet next.
On the downside, the service left something to be desired. We were seated in a spot that was quite chilly, and when we asked for the heater to be turned on, we were told it was broken. Despite our requests, we weren’t moved to a warmer area, which made the experience a bit uncomfortable.
In summary, the food was fantastic, but the service and ambiance could use a bit of improvement.
Good to make a reservation if you a big party party. Good value for money and very pleasant. Definitely would recommend
Biryani was great 3.5 ⭐ the portion size for Raita was small and if onion salad was added I would give 4 ⭐ but it was tasty and flavorful.
Harabhara kabab was average 2.5 ⭐
They even have a weekend brunch which includes dosas, so will be excited to try weekend brunch buffet sometime soon. Will definitely be back!
