Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya (West Seattle)

  4.4 – 1,035 reviews   • Ramen restaurant

Social Profile:

Kizuki Ramen’s philosophy is to serve the most traditional, authentic and delicious Japanese ramen that you can possibly have without actually flying to Japan. Kizuki’s food is still prepared the same way as it is in Japan; utilizing an unique method of roasting bones before boiling. Similar to the French style of making consomme, they were the first in the Japanese ramen industry to employ this method. The result is a rich, flavorful broth that is fragrant, and full of depth. Devoted to replicating the incredible flavor of traditional Japanese ramen, if equal substitutes for ingredients are not found within the country, Kizuki Ramen imports the ingredients directly from Japan.

Hip venue serving Japanese noodle soups & small plates, plus whiskey, sake & beer amid artful decor.

The food quality has gone down compared to that before the pandemics. The portion is smaller now. I ordered a bowl of ramen with extra spinach and pork belly (with extra charge). When it was brought out, none of the extra was in the bowl. I had to remind the server of my extra orders. Now she brought out two tiny piece of plate of what was supposed to be included in the original bowl.

The vibe you used to see from staff before the pandemic is no longer there. We wonder if constant staff change is the reason.

Went here on a Friday night, wasn’t busy at all we were sat right away. Menu is super simple which I love… sometimes ramen menus are over whelming. The ramen was very good… didn’t take long at all. I really loved the consistency of the noodles..more on the firm side. Broth was very good and not too salty. The karage chicken very very good and crispy ! It did take quite some time for our cocktails but there weren’t a lot of people working. They turned out good tho. Will be back to try other things on the menu.

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was incredible, I really wanted to point out how amazing our server was Jesslyn! She was incredible and gave such good recommendations for us for our first time coming to the restaurant. She definitely went above and beyond to make sure our experience was a memorable one. I would definitely go back to this location again not only for the great food but also for just her service alone. Anyone lucky enough to have her as your server will have a great experience all in all.

Atmosphere is clam and rooms for big group like 10+ People while still have space for group of 2 and singles.

Lighting is faily sufficient and balanced verse other places are being too dim or being overly relay on ShowLights or bright LED

Portion control is good!

The food looks and smells DELICIOUS! I made an online order, so I didn’t get the full experience of the dining area, but oh my goodness. If you are the type of person who enjoys watching the chefs work, this is the place. The room was spacious, well decorated, and certainly was the vibe. I used Toast for my online order, and being able to select what I wanted was super easy and simple. The reason for three stars? I specifically didn’t include eggs in my order on purpose. I’m allergic, unfortunately. Don’t be discouraged! It was a really nice gesture! The broth was nice and warm, and came separately from the bowl of inclusions. It all looks divine, but due to my allergy, I can only enjoy the broth. Oh wells. We’ll try again another day!

Do not eat here if you have serious food allergies.

This restaurant advertises a vegan ramen special, but the staff could not reliably identify what was vegan or egg-free. I am severely allergic to eggs and explained this multiple times. After a long discussion, I was told I could substitute kale noodles to make the ramen safe. My husband ordered the same dish.

Both bowls arrived with egg noodles.

That error alone makes this place unsafe. On top of that, the ramen was bland and completely flavorless. At checkout, the server offered to ask about a discount due to the allergy mistake and was told “No” by her management. The total cost of the bill was outrageous given the experience and low food quality.

Misleading menu, poor allergen handling, bad food, and zero accountability. Avoid.

It’s about 12:00pm. The restaurant is empty with soft music playing. The sun is shining. I ordered a Japanese Curry with Karaage. I make my own Japanese curry, so I have high expectations. This curry is incredibly rich. The spicy heat is just enough to wake you up without ruining the dish, and the curry sauce is rich, deep, sweet and savory. The chicken is crispy and perfectly paired with the gravy. I added some chili oil and togarashi, and I can confidently tackle the rest of my day without being too full. Perfect proportion size for this rich of a meal. Thank you!

Pulled up to Kizuki for some ramen and lowkey felt like Naruto at Ichiraku. The broth was fire, noodles were on point—had me slurpin’ like I just got back from a mission. Solid spot, I’ll be back for sure.

Came in for dinner on a Friday evening a it was easy to get a table and the place was not busy.

We ordered a vegetarian ramen, garlic tonkatsu with pork belly and potato croquettes between the two of us and it was a lot of food for me. I ended up taking half my ramen as takeaway (and it kept very well till the next day).

The food here is really good – the ramen is flavorful, but it’s the potato croquettes that are really the star. The sauce that is drizzled over it adds such a lovely flavor that I could’ve eaten multiple plates of just this.
