So tonight was wing night. Sounded good. Worst wings I’ve had in a long time. Got sweet thai chilie and honey garlic. The sauce was so watery it just layed at the bottom of the dish. Also got greasy zucchini fries. Just not good. When I told the waitress she said “the Thai chili sauce is watery, that’s how it comes ” The wings were bad and so was the service.

We were seated and then didn’t have a server approach us for 10 minutes. We were able to put our full order in: 2 draft beers, 1 order of fried provolone, and 2 fish sandwiches. Most of the dining room was empty, save for maybe 3 other tables. It took another 10 minutes to get our drinks and then 10 more to get our 4 tiny fried cheese triangles that were overpriced.The Friday fish fry sandwiches finally arrived and were just terrible! The fish was paper thin and fried so hard it was inedible in multiple spots. The bread was delicious and the fries were hot and crispy (but it was a very small serving of fries). We couldn’t even bring ourselves to attempt finishing the sandwich and then had to wait until most of the patrons had left before we got check and could mercifully leave. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Kind of a neat spot because of the history, but not worth it for the small portions and slow service.

Listen this place is just incredible! I ordered for my 2nd time ever and got the fried chicken basket with mashed taters and corn bread and gravy… I feel like this food touched my soul hahaha. Everything was just incredible.

My puppy is sick and so I stopped in for a bite to eat while the vets take care of him.
The first and most important thing I can say about this restaurant is that it is clean, well maintained, and that the owner is clearly very involved and cares a lot. There’s a review a few spots below this that someone stood at the greeter stand to be seated and no one showed up. Well, they had a button installed. If no one is there, please press the button. That is an owner who cares and that’s amazing to see.
I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and fries with a side of ranch. Needed some comfort food and it hit the spot. The tomatoes were crisp, the lettuce was green and fresh, the roll itself was very nice. The actual chicken filet was a bit on the small side for the roll, and I think I might have preferred some more buffalo sauce – BUT this item is in the menu as a wrap (or on a roll) so I think maybe it’s more well portioned as a wrap. Still, I’d order it again. It was very good. The fries were served crispy and hot, and their ranch is very high quality.
The table I sat at was exceptionally clean, the greeters and servers were very friendly. When my drink was 3/4 empty the server showed up with a refill before I requested. I appreciated that a lot.
All in all a 5 star experience, if you’re looking for some comfort food or a nice place to get some food or drink with family and friends, I highly recommend Sunny Jim’s.

This place is a classic for getting out for dinner and relaxation by exhaling and having a beer.
The Missus had a Patty Melt on incredible rye bread, taking her back to lunches with Mom in the 1970s. My fish sandwich didn’t give me what I typically complain about: “this fish sandwich extends past the bun edge gun wakes, so how can I contain the cocktail sauce?” I thought the fish sandwich was reasonably portioned to go with the two thumbs up cole slaw and straight-up ‘Meets Expectations” French fries as a standard accompanying comfort food that brought subtle joy.
Good beer selection.
Must keep in mind their daily specials and start a schedule.

I was excited to host my rehearsal dinner here until it all went south. I originally filled out the form a few months ago the gentleman called me and we discussed options which sounded perfect. Once I had the info I reached back out. I got 1 response and asked further questions and it went dead. I then tried calling and the woman who answered refused to take my information to have him call me and kept saying I need to do it online which I explain I did all that and wasn’t getting a response to which she still refused to help. To me that’s terrible service. I would have had a party of 20 there purchasing off the regular menu plus alcohol so not a cheap bill!!!

Today our group of six enjoyed a delicious lunch at SJ’s T. Our choices included grilled chicken salad, hot sausage casserole, meatloaf, fried chicken and a couple of fish dinners. Prices were comparable to other restaurants in the North Hills. And Lori P provided excellent service. Will definitely go back in the very near future.

Waitress was pleasant. She took forever to come back to the table. I sat waiting for my tartar sauce for my sandwich for a solid 10 minutes. When I went to leave, I realized I forgot my box and turned right around to come back and grab it, and the table was already cleared. Nobody was in the restaurant to even ask. I know it’s my fault I left it, but in the 2 seconds it took me to talk back in the place it was already thrown away? I’m just not going to stop here anymore.
