Buzzy, maritime-themed destination specializing in boil-in-a-bag Cajun- & Asian-inspired seafood.

I have ordered via Uber Eats in the past and had a great experience. Dined in before and had a better experience. Lately, Captain’s Boil has been subpar at best.
I ordered one pound of shrimp with extra sauce via Uber Eats tonight. Shrimp were old and mushy. Ordered extra sauce and I didn’t receive it. The entree itself was overall tasteless.
Food quality has really taken a plunge. If they are trying to find niche ways to not have repeat customers, I will confidently say this establishment is heading towards the right direction.
Will not be returning any time soon – dine in or food delivery.

The service was impressively fast—our food came out much quicker than expected—and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The flavours were good, with a nice blend of spice and seasoning that made the meal enjoyable.
That said, it wasn’t quite the seafood boil experience I was hoping for. Still, it was a satisfying meal, and if you’re looking for a quick, flavourful seafood fix, it’s definitely a reliable option.

These people are not flexible. I was gonna get the buy one get one for free through Uber eat but the app messed up and showed only 1 order. I called the restaurant to see if they could fix it. They told me to cancel my order on uber eat. The cancelation fee is 33$ !!! . Now i got a tiny bag of Shrimp with a hole in it for $36. Total scam. Do not buy food from there. They have no shame scamming people. Just cook at home and save money. Im gonna cancel my uber eat…

It looked good on paper and in our minds but when it came to actually dining at Captain’s Boil reality set in that we didn’t like it much at all. The food tasted the same even with different flavours. And why do they give us plastic bags of food when they could just toss it in a metal bowl? I found the plastic bag concept wasteful. By the time we finished one bag of food, and emptied the next batch the food already gotten cold. The food was pretty expensive for what it was too. I would not recommend this style of dining at the pricepoint offered. Sorry, but I would not return anytime soon. Booth seats were a bit greasy too.

Ordered the Dungeness crab seafood boil with the Captain’s boil Flavour which is considered top notch. I agree as the Cajun spice which was chosen for the fish teriyaki sizzling plate was overly garlicky with an overpowering metallic taste. When combined as leftovers, it was much better. The fish teriyaki was amazing! I recommend that, very flavorful. The service was great as were the options. Remember the food comes in large portions best suited to sharing between two or more people. Not cheap but a good option in the Vancouver area. Parking is hellish in the Union Square Shopping Centre. Be prepared for some smart maneuvering to get a spot.

My family went there for a lunch birthday celebration, it was last minute party with 14 people including 2 infants. They accommodated us right away in an excellent corner of the place. Food and service excellent! We arrived at 12:30 and left the place only at 5 o clock ☺️
Large portions of amazing food fo every kink of pocket, and 1L beer kept the party going for so long in a rainy Sunday afternoon.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to captains boil. COVID really delayed things and never got around to it. So we started having an itch for Cajun seafood and settled this place. We were pleasantly surprised. The first thing is that the food was super hot and fresh. That’s definitely a plus. The Captains boil seasoning is excellent. Has some kick, but not overwhelming in terms of heat ( medium spice). The sides (fries and seafood fried rice) were excelled. Considering this restaurant is not known for rice dishes, we we definitely enjoyed it.
The seafood, especially the shrimp, was so deliciously. I settled on the headless shrimp cause I can’t stand shrimp eyes looking at me, while I eat.
The service was good. Staff were attentive and made the experience highly welcoming. The dining room is a bit congested and the washrooms could use a renovation.
However, the food makes up for it. I would definitely recommend this location.

Good service and ambience.
Food tasted of too much garlic yet somehow bland. It tasted like something I tried to cook at home and failed.
So much plastic waste – bags, cutlery, cups, aprons, and gloves. All plastic.
For what it is, it’s overpriced (spent about $42/person).
Probably better quality and value to buy fresh seafood from a block down and steam at home.
