I love Ari. I come here for sushi when I wanna splurge and treat myself. The bluefin tuna toro …. U will not find better quality or plating in this city. The itamae (sushi chef) knows what they are doing. You can tell in the details of how the fish is cut. Ur eyes eat first. Each piece is $10. Steep, but well worth it. Consistency and quality is prioritized at Ari. They have $30 specials for sashimi/sushi platters that are definitely worth trying. Sit at the bar, watch them craft each piece of sushi one by one, and u will be amazed at their skills. They also teach younger chefs old tricks so it’s nice to know culture isn’t dead here. Service is good, I’m always greeted by everyone and the environment is warm. It is a small place so book ahead of time if u want a table.

Ari Sushi is a fantastic Japanese food spot in Calgary! I ordered two lunch sushi specials and one lunch sashimi special, and everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The fish was high quality, portions were generous, and the lunch specials were great value. What really stood out was the service—the server took the time to introduce and explain each type of sushi after serving, which made the experience feel thoughtful and welcoming. Friendly, attentive service and excellent food. Highly recommend!

First time trying Ari –
We ordered the lunch specials, tempura and a roll. When we were nearly finished the food in the first picture a male server came and confirmed that we had the remaining order on its way. Sadly this was not conveyed to the chefs or other servers so we were left waiting for the roll for quite some time before being presented with the bill. We informed the server and she brought us a couple ice creams as an apology. For a small restaurant I think communication between the team could be better, coming from experience of managing a restaurant myself.
