Our story began many years ago with our grandfather Jose Flores. He lived in a small town in Mexico called Juchitlan, Jalisco. From a very young age he worked in his father’s fields and Carniceria. He did everything from butchering to selling. Now, we, his grandaughters, continue the tradition.
Many years later in the small town of Tarachi, Sonora a young man left to pursue his dreams. After many years of hard work and finding the love of his life, they opened their first Carniceria in 2003.
Serving Pueblo, Colorado for over 6 years and Tucson, Arizona over 3. When the two families came together, they opened their very 1st Sonoras Prime Carniceria & Taco Shop here in Colorado Springs.

First time here and I’m a fan. Will definitely be my go-to for Mexican food and meat market. Menu has a bit of everything. We had the shrimp tacos, carne asada fries and Arizona burrito. I will say, I was disappointed when I had seen the tacos, but after eating them, they were tasty and filling. Carne asada fries were the best I’ve had in Colorado. Can only imagine how good their California burrito is. Really enjoyed this place and look forward to returning to try other items

This place was wonderful! Great little corner spot to checkout. My daughters and I were visiting from out of town. We heard they have homemade chile relleno burritos; we confirmed. Def a cool small carniceria. The sweet lady that took care of was Dia I believe, she was very sweet and friendly. The hospitality of this was incredible. All the food looked so yummy and was hard to just take the Chile Relleno Burrito. The Chile Relleno burrito also had Asada and Al Pastor. Tasted bombalicious. Although, all of the food their looked so good. The place was small, neat and tidy. They have options to dine outside- if you have kids for example, it helps. They have lighting and comfortable seating. Very spacious. I personally loved it! The chicharrones with meat are absolutely scrumchious. Also their churros are filled with vanilla and strawberry jam. Def check it out if you’re in the area. You can also buy meat to cook at home. It is freshly sliced at great prices.

Very small shop. Meat looks good but over priced. Crowded once it gets busy. Food was good and average at best. Service was good. They have a great outside patio when its warm.

Came here because I wanted Chicharrón, but it was closing time on a Saturday and they were all sold out. We still got food and it was the best food ever. Their birria is delicious! And they have a little salsa bar! It’s a long drive for us, but we will try to go again earlier in the morning to try their Chicharrónes! Everyone working there was extremely kind and helpful.

This is a Mexican store with a little restaurant in the back. There are only 2 tables on the inside but more seating outside. The food was great and so was the customer service.

We always enjoy visiting this meat market. The quality of their products is excellent, making it a great place to shop for cooking ingredients. The taqueria also offers a variety of delicious options for dining in.
Damaris consistently provides outstanding customer service. She greets us as soon as we walk in and always makes us feel welcomed, treating every customer like family.
We truly appreciate the experience each time we visit and highly recommend checking them out.

Sonora’s is our favorite Mexican restaurant in this area! My husband and I have tried several items and haven’t been disappointed by anything! So far, their chicken is our favorite meat choice – juicy and flavorful every time – not dry like most places. The beans and rice served as a side are also incredibly flavorful and aren’t a boring addition (again like most other places). They’ve got tables inside and outside – service is friendly and fast. Pictured is the beef chimichanga we tried last week – delicious!
