My first time at Wan Fu did not disappoint! The Hot and Sour soup was a delicious start to the meal! The House Lo Mein was fresh and flavorful – and such a generous portion! The Veggie Spring Roll was light and crispy. The atmosphere was quiet and perfect for conversation. Service was fast and friendly. I can hardly wait to eat there again!

Great dine in Chinese restaurant. Very nice staff. Food was great and served quickly. Several other local Chinese restaurant’s chicken and broccoli dishes were very greasy and this one wasn’t. House fried rice was loaded with shrimp! Of course chicken and pork was mixed in but at least they didn’t limit the shrimp! It is a little more expensive than other Chinese restaurants in the area. Probably 25% more. It is also hidden off of Pineville Matthews road. Its decor is little dated and needs a little modernization.

Update. Went for lunch today and got the lunch special. Was a very good portion of food and the service is excellent. Best Chinese in town. I have been going there for years. They have authentic food. Restaurant is beautiful inside. Got a to go lunch order today. Pork with garlic sauce, it came with rice and a spring roll for $11.95. Also got the fried pork dumplings $9.95. They are definitely a step above the rest. Love this place!

I have celiac disease and I have to be very cautious about gluten exposure. I had a great experience at a group outing where I ordered the Coral Scallops with Mixed Vegetables with the white sauce. The veggies were freshly prepared and perfectly cooked- not too much, not too little. The sauce was light and not too seasoned. The scallops were perfectly cooked and slightly seared. The temp at service was perfect. I enjoyed the large rice they brought to the table to accompany and they offered more rice to go.
I’ll be going back here. The atmosphere reminds me of going to a Chinese restaurant back in the 90’s in a good way. The atmosphere is nostalgic and I’d go back again.

Love love this place! I always get the Wan Fu Scallops. I generally stay away from fried foods, but these scallops are pan seared, and not greasy, with the perfect consistency every time. The vegetables served with it are super fresh. Service is great, feels like family.

10/10! The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. The food tasted so fresh. I’ve been to China and the decor and ambience reminded me of my time in China. I loved the portion sizes to do family style so we tasted 4 dishes. The Mongolian beef was some of the best my family and I tasted! The fried onions and pepper on the bottom of the salt and pepper shrimp was delicious. The fried rice wasn’t too oily and the fish was nice and tender. We got the fish steamed and didn’t feel weighted down. Everything was amazing and fresh!

I’ll admit it…Wan Fu caught my eye before I even knew what was on the menu. That pagoda-style roof and bold red front doors flanked by lion statues had me pulling into the parking lot on pure vibe alone. The place just looks like it’s got stories to tell.
Chef Chan has been serving Chinese food in Charlotte since 1989, and stepping inside Wan Fu feels like entering a time capsule. It’s lined with red leather booths, carved wood partitions, glowing amber lanterns, and a massive golden dragon mural that practically breathes fire from the wall. It’s got that classic, cozy feel without trying too hard. Think vintage elegance with a side of soy sauce.
I came with a craving for Beef Chow Fun and it absolutely delivered. The portion was massive, like “leftovers for tomorrow” big. Thin flat rice noodles stir fried with tender slices of beef, sweet onions, crunchy bean sprouts, snow peas, and scallions. It was savory, chewy, and exactly the comfort food fix I needed.
To start, I kept it classic with a vegetable spring roll. It came out fresh from the fryer, golden and crisp, and paired with duck sauce and spicy mustard for that nostalgic Chinese takeout flavor. Inside was your usual cabbage and carrot filling, nothing fancy but perfectly executed.
The wonton soup was next. The broth was clear, light, and flavorful. Salty, but not the salt bomb you get at some spots. The wontons were delicate and filled with pork, and they didn’t skimp on them either. A solid option if you’re easing into the meal.
Service was friendly and warm. The kind of place where you feel like a regular even on your first visit.

Amazing food and a great atmosphere. I went for lunch. The quality and portions were excellent with food left over for at least another meal. The fried dumplings were among the best I’ve ever eaten and I have eaten way too many of them in my lifetime. The service was friendly and fast. I’ll definitely be back for more!
