As a Mexican American, I can be pretty picky when it comes to “Mexican” food but Habaneros in Bessemer truly impressed me! Not only was the food authentic and delicious, but the service was also outstanding. Our server, Uriel, was attentive and friendly with great menu suggestions. He recommended the #21, which includes flank steak and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans, it was packed with flavor! I also had their Cadillac margarita which was refreshing and made to perfection. My husband and one of my sons had the chicken quesadilla with rice and beans, and my other son ordered the chicken flautas (crispy rolled tortillas filled with seasoned chicken). Everything was so good! However, I do wish the flautas came with rice and beans.
Overall, We were seated right away, and despite it being a little busy, our food came out hot and fast. The atmosphere was lively with great music, and everything looked very clean and well kept. If you like spice, I highly recommend trying their hot salsa it was top notch! My family and I will definitely be coming back..

Arrive in time for lunch and was seated quickly with chips and salsa brought to the table. The atmosphere was reminiscent of many other restaurant of this nature. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food came out hot and ready. The meal was delicious this was a great choice and I highly recommend it to you as well.

I take my dining experience very seriously. I also work in customer service and the food industry. I can understand the overwhelming feeling of being busy. This however was unacceptable, when I was seated, me and my peers were rushed to order our drinks. Not only with our drinks but with our food. When I received my food after taking a few bites, I pulled out a long piece of hair. Th hair was black, my hair is sandy brown so I knew the at it couldn’t have been mine. I asked for a manger because I was overly irritated being that I was rushed and I had hair in my food. The manager blamed it on me and said that they don’t operate their kitchen like that. I decided to give it a second chance, after coming out of the restroom I smelt something burning. Come to find out, it was my food. The food was burned on the bottom and it was the same food that was taken back to the kitchen and cheese was just thrown on it again. After all this, the manager gave us our check, he didn’t ask if the checks were separate but simply handed us one check which was $23. When my three peers went to pay for their foods and get their checks separated they each paid $20 and some change, leading up to $61. I’m not a person that complains about the food industry because I know how it feels but this was overly unapologetically the worst service I’ve had.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to eat here. Our waiter “Eric” was not friendly and passive aggressive. I noticed that he took great care of the white customers but never asked us once if we were ok or if we needed anything. I had to flag him down for him to give us the check. I later told him that I didn’t like my drink and you can clearly see that I didn’t drink it but he claimed he couldn’t take it off the ticket. But then proceeds to say “tell the lady at the counter when you pay.” So once we got to the register and told the cashier, she calls Eric to the front and he said he asked us if everything was ok and we said yes. Now you’re a liar and got me looking like the crazy angry black lady. I will NEVER come back here and eat again. I
can assure you people get better customer service in jail. This is ridiculous.

Tried to eat there last night, ordered chicken fajitas, could not get any tortillas. Asked waiter 3 times and another guy once and they never brought any in 15 minutes food got cold so I returned it. You cannot eat fajitas without tortillas, you cannot eat them with your fingers. Train your servers how to serve and train them to respond to requests from customers. Sat there for 15 minutes watching my food get cold while the rest of my party ate. Next time I’ll bring my own damned tortillas. It should not be this hard to get tortillas in a Mexican restaurant.

Came with the family I paid for mine and my nieces quesadilla, quesadillas rice and beans child’s tea and my tea and it was $31 the drink were almost $4 the prices were ridiculous the server was barely at the table. Definitely will not go back for those prices.

I like the atmosphere in the restaurant and the waiters are quick. I usually order the same thing ever time I go. It’s the fajita Taco salad. This time I ordered all of the meats (chicken, steak and shrimp) whereas I usually order steak or chicken. This time, the chicken was a very small portion and the steak was a little tough, but there were plenty of shrimp. It wasn’t worth complaining about, so I just ate it. I think I will go back to the chicken because it was seasoned well. Also, it was a night they were crowded–Friday. But it will stay on my list of regular restaurants.
