I stopped by Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ for dinner as a party of 1. I didn’t feel like cooking so I just ordered plates of Japanese Chicken Karaage and Tonkotsu Ramen.
The chicken karaage came out fresh, hot, and crispy. And the ramen came out hot and delicious. The sauce that complimented the chicken karaage was enjoyed and gave the chicken a nice twang. The tonkatsu ramen was thoroughly enjoyed, its the type that you clean the bowl. The noodles were cooked perfectly, not mushy at all, and the broth was very rich and had depth to it. It’s the type of ramen that you devour fully, every last drop!

If you can’t tell by this point, I appreciate a good bowl of ramen, and Gyu-Kaku did great!!

What can I say, I keep going back to this place whenever I’m in nola. Food is great, servers are always kind and sweet, atmosphere js always however you want it to be. Fun and lively with friends and family or warm and cozy with your partner, they got it all.
Sad that they don’t do ayce no more…

Good food. Not all you can eat but we knew they ahead of time. We ordered some ala carte because the family meal wasn’t enough. What we received did not look like the picture. For $17 ala carte we expected better. Also the server added gratuity on a part of 4 and a child. But the way he did it looked suspicious. Probably won’t come back. The all you can eat Korean BBQ is a better deal.

Ordered Tofu spicy soup and after waiting 30 minutes the soup came out without any tofu inside and when inquired was told they were out of tofu. Then ordered beef spicy bibimbab and received a dish that was not bibimbab but a pot of leftover food with 6 small pieces of beef and mix vegetables from a frozen section of a supermarket with spices that was just sugar. So disappointed to spend Christmas dinner.

Ummm words don’t describe how amazing this food and experience was!!
We ordered the 3 meat combo it was delicious and perfect!
The pork dumplings were the best we have ever had, the spicy cucumber salad is a must, the harami steak was to die for, make sure you save room for it!!
Ya’ll then smores for dessert?! Are you kidding me? I said I didn’t have any more room but somehow I’ll make room!
Highly highly highly recommend

Loved my experience at Gyu-Kaku New Orleans! The meat was perfectly tender, and the gyoza and chicken karaage were absolutely delicious. Great food and fun dining experience!

I love this place. The 78$ deal for two is usually enough for me and my boyfriend to eat from and get full from. The food is worth it and the price also matches because the food is delicious. All the sauces are super good and everything about this place is good. The service is also really good!

I come here often for both lunch and dinner. During dinner service, the servers are great and everything runs smoothly even though looks busier than lunch time. However, lunch service is consistently disappointing every time we go. It takes about 20 minutes for the meat to be served, Especially we have to pay for the parking waiting over 20 mins are too long. Items are frequently out of stock, and the server rarely checks on the table. We often have to leave our seats to ask for things ourselves, even to get the check.
I like their sweet soy sauce over there. This time regular soy sauce was placed on the table inside the sweet soy bottle probably put something else as well to make it tasted sauce but tasted awful never tasted Yakiniku like that in my life and shocked. If the sweet soy sauce isn’t available, the bottle shouldn’t be left on the table, as it’s misleading. I really like this place, but lunch service needs improvement. The lunch-time server is inattentive. Not sure if they trying to trick the customers being cheap and lazy.

We were there for thanksgiving.
We went to this chain in Tokyo. It is very similar!!!
The service was great, we had the meat combo but next time we will order by plate.
If you order by plate you can choose just the meat you like.
It is not cheap but it is a nice experience.
My husband had tap Japanese beer and it was just perfect, very cold.

The food was excellent and so was the variety. The only thing we didn’t care for was the cheese corn. It tasted like canned corn with cheese slices melted over top of it. This is normally one of our favorite dishes at other places and we order multiple. This one we took a couple bites and left the rest. Service was a bit slow, compared to other BBQ places. There were times we waited almost 20 minutes between when we placed our order and actually got it. They weren’t strict in the time limit because there were only a couple of tables, but if you go at a busy time and they are that slow with only a few tables, not sure how much slower they would be if they were busy and enforcing the 90 minute time limit!
