Kyoto has become the Treasure Valley’s favorite Teppanyaki and Sushi restaurant of 31+ years. We serve various hibachi chicken, steak, and seafood dishes. The chefs demonstrate their skills while cooking from-scratch meals for you table-side and the staff make you feel right at home.
Entertaining teppanyaki chefs & classic sushi rolls draw crowds to this lively Japanese restaurant.

This place has set new standards for me choices of meals. We went out looking for sushi but we fould onion volcano and a new flavor palette. The miso soup is rich and savory the Japanese salad has a nice rich sauce with crunch to it. The Gyoza didn’t disappoint crunchy but not over cooked with a good variety of flavors. To top the night off we had a the royal dinner for two with fried rice, chicken, filet Mignon, shrimp broccoli mushroom and onion it was perfect the finish to the night was the snowball ice cream rich and sweet. Will be back for more meals in the future.

Made reservations for Friday night. Was seated promptly on time & had our table for hibachi! Love that. It is LOUD in here. I understand with the nature of this type of restaurant what to expect (and have been to many others) but this is by far the loudest.
Our waiter was very brazen and quick with us. Not very friendly at all. We ordered 2 apps, and they came out in weird time. The salad was very unique. It had little bits of pineapple in it! We really enjoyed that. The jalepeño poppers were really good.
Our party ordered some of the New York & some of the filet mignon. Unfortunately our chef mixed them up and put them all on the wrong plates. My chicken was good & so was the shrimp.
My water never was refilled by our brazen waiter – but he was quick on getting us the checks even tho we had to explain the misplaced meats & have him re-do them.

10/10 experience! I haven’t been in years, back when it had the past owners and I was skeptical to try it again but I am so happy I did. It was a last minute decision for my boyfriends bday, and he had never had the hibachi experience and our server made sure he got the best service, great conversation and hilarious jokes, and a breathtaking show finished off with delicious food! We both had huge smiles the WHOLE time and still are talking about how good and (obviously) fresh our food was! I was very pleased with the price especially with how much fun the whole show was and how yummy ALL of our food was. I’m a very picky eater and I found it to be inclusive of that. It is a very loud restaurant, which is to be expected and I think it adds to the ambiance-just big flames and good smells and laughter all around! We will be celebrating here often now<3

The service was outstanding! I’m not sure I can say enough about it. It looks like a little hole in the wall place but it’s a gem. Steak, chicken , sushi, rice, noodles, hot sake, everything was amazing! Generous portions, with a good show put on by the chef. They don’t have a full bar but have and assortment of draft beers.

If you’re visiting Boise do not let other food reviews lure you here. This is a local mainstay with a Benihana-like show. The food is far from authentic. The “yum yum sauce” is their version of “fry sauce” and neither has a place in an Asian and specifically a Japanese restaurant. Wasabi came out of a tube. Rice was long grain. Let the locals have this place. Visitors stay downtown where there is authentic Korean and Vietnamese. I’m sure there is better Japanese but we didn’t have time to find it.

Sushi was good, but all seemed to have lots of spice so if you like that then great. But the BEST part was our waitress Adrienne. She was so so kind to us and didn’t rush us or make us wait. And when the kitchen forgot our rice she brought us two and didn’t charge. She was the best part and even if the sushi sucked we’d still come back because of her service.

Very good sashimi. The charashi was great! Try the spicy poke! It’s amazing! Also, try the tempura cheesecake for desert! So good! Our server was very friendly and made sure our drinks were full. Overall, it was a great experience.

This was my first time being in here, but it won’t be my last! The hibachi chef was very fun and he knew what he was doing. I had the best filet mignon I’ve ever had in my life -seriously! The price was worth the experience. We set up a reservation so we got in promptly!

It was our first time at Kyoto Sushi & Japanese. We weren’t really impressed. They sat me and my hubby on the side. There weren’t any people facing the cook. The cook was an older man who had a hard time doing an egg trick. He broke two eggs trying and the third egg, he just broke the normal way. I’m thinking he just gave up. However, he did burn a lot of oil in the onion trick.
The food was okay. We had to pay $2.50 for fried rice. My shrimp was undercooked, and my steak had a lot of fat. It was a really skinny piece of steak. Our soup bowl was 1/3 full and didn’t have any flavor. The salad was really small, but it tasted good. The dressing made the salad. There weren’t any cucumbers or tomatoes.
I saw the fat on the end of the steak on the grillI. I was hoping he would cut it off but, no he just cut, cooked, and served. The staff was really nice. I think this isn’t a restaurant for us. Everything looked better than it tasted.

Really enjoyed the experience here. Reservation on OpenTable makes it really easy.
Audrey was a treat and so friendly and attentive!
The sushi rolls here are the best in the treasure valley. They remind me of the quality you see in Seattle area.
We will definitely return:)
