Based Originally in Cuba NM the Albuquerque location has all the appeal and menu variety you would expect at a New Mexican restaurant.
Bar and dining room seating. Chips are sadly no longer complimentary but they have added a new appetizer with quest, guacamole, and salsa thats not yet printed on the menu.
Marg flight has a lot of variety.
Staff are friendly and helpful

If you’re looking for a meal that will knock your socks off, get the Chicharron Burrito Plate at El Bruno’s. The chicharrones are so tender they practically melt in your mouth, and they pair perfectly with the beans and a generous layer of cheddar cheese. The “Christmas” style Hatch chile—a delicious mix of red and green—adds a fantastic kick without overpowering the other flavors. The portion is massive, so you definitely won’t leave hungry. It’s a must-try for any fan of New Mexican food!

Food was the bomb! Grandma Lou’s tacos were so good, that I had to order it twice! Highly recommend those if you like grilled tacos. The service was also really attentive. Never had an empty glass.

El Bruno’s Restaurant y Cantina in Albuquerque. We went for a late dinner. Boy, that was a mistake. I had the two tamales plate. It came with pinto beans and Spanish style rice. I asked for red chili with the tamales. The tamales were good size, not small. The whole plate was boring and cold. Tamales had plenty of pork, but in chunks instead of shred. The corn masa was a bit dry and hard. We also ordered corn tortilla chips and avocado dip. The chips were good, but the dip was a fake large bowl of avocado. It looked like it had a good amount of avocado dip, but it didn’t. The bowl was large size, but it was half full of dip. Avocado dip on top and the bottom half was spring greens mix lettuce. The red chili sauce was a bit vinegary.
My two guests had ordered the chicken enchiladas with green chili sauce. They both complained about not being able to find corn tortillas. There was plenty of green chili sauce, but seemly very little tortillas. On the bright side, the place was warm and nicely decorated for the Holiday season!

We were in the beautiful area of North 4th and decided to finally try Albuquerque’s El Bruno. I used to go to the one in Cuba, New Mexico all the time as a kid. The dining room was not too full but seemed a little cramped for my style. I noticed the patio door was open and they happily let us sit outside. It was the perfect day for it. We got the taquitos appetizer which came with delicious guacamole and sour cream, beans with garnish. Next time I think I’ll ask for lettuce/sour cream/guacamole on the side because it was on top of the beans. We also got the chips and queso which had fresh flour tortilla chips! We asked for salsa and our server happily brought us some. It was very bland which was surprising. We got the 2 beef/bean burrito plate & a carne asada burrito with christmas. I was so happy they put it on the side without me asking. The steak in the carne asada was perfection and the green chile was the best I’ve ever had. Flavorful and not too hot. The red was good and very hot! Has us sweating! The Spanish rice was not good so next time I’ll ask for all beans which were good. By the way, our service was awesome. Everyone was so nice. It took awhile for some things but I know that’s the price you pay for sitting outside. It is pricey but you can find affordable plates too. Like my carne asada burrito was $11. Overall very good especially with the patio in spring!

My wife ordered shrimp tacos no rice, and got shrimp fajita with rice, no garnish cut up avocado (not guacamole) and tortillas were corn (no choice of soft or hard or flour or corn) which is common in most NM restaurants! Then no notice on menu that there was an added gratuity of 20% for 4 or more plus Credit card charge for every item not the total! To top it off since we weren’t aware we added another 20%tip!! (Our fault yes)! But we could have been made aware!

I saw your best margarit sign on the side of 4th street and thought bold claim, challenge accepted. It was definitely solid. I had the grinch marg. Really dug it. Also tried the Ranchitos lunch special Christmas and it blew me away. Great spot. Thanks again.

Good food, good price, festive decor. The stuffed sopapilla lunch special was only $10, and still really filling! Our server was friendly, the dining room was quiet and had a great feel to it. I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as our favorite New Mexican restaurant in town, but for a $10 lunch we will definitely be back!
